Nice work on this game! I've played a few times now and it was enjoyable each time. The first time I played I found it very easy, but that was due to me misunderstanding the rules about troops that you did defeat on the way to the fortress being added to to the forces to beat. My next few play-throughs were much more challenging :-D

I concur with what Vijil wrote about the atmosphere and being drawn into the game. Personally I didn't mind the random travel amounts. It helped the story I was telling in my head about struggles of moving an army through the mountains, plus it changes the landscape a bit with each play through. The drawback though is that sometimes it can be really easy and sometimes it can be really hard.

I really enjoyed the card mechanic as a way to manage resources and movement. I've been drawn to games that use a standard playing card deck lately. Even though it's random, it gives you a nice decision space to work with and definitely experienced that with your game.

I liked the idea of the spaces with suits powering up your cards. I wonder what the experience would be like if they were more of risk to get to. They are super helpful when you're on them, what if it took more time or resources to reach those spaces?

Sorry for the late reply! Thank you for the comments! I say that's that's an accurate assessment. There is definitely a push your luck mechanic, but I tried to mitigate it by decision spaces of initiative, bonus for combining attacks, and being able to send planes back for repair. Thematically, I did want the back and forth to be a thing - but balancing it out so it wasn't to easy or too hard was a challenge! I totally see being stuck in the middle for too long being annoying.  The game should go one way or another at a reasonable point. Thank you for mentioning your experience with that. This gets me thinking about ways to mitigate that.

And bad dice with 4 on the ground and 2 in the sky is not a promising spot to be in! I hope you gave'em hell :-)

Got it! Thanks for the clarification. played again this morning doing one battle row at a time and it went super smooth.

Thanks for the game :-) I made a quick post about on my Instagram site in case you are on that. The only question I had was when I was in the positive points and had the option to move. I played that I could advance any of my units and in the case of 2 moves I could advance one unit 2 spaces or 2 units one space each. Was that correct?

Really enjoyed the theme of this game. I could easily conjure up images of the medic rushing about doing whatever they could while playing. Overall, I think I played it correctly, but do have a few small questions. Do stabilized soldiers need to be taken back to the aid station to count? Also, can I use more than one asset when trying to stabilize someone?

Thanks for the game! Would love to see a bigger game of this theme.

Thank you! I'm so happy to see the game out in the wild and to hear you enjoyed it! Thanks for the photo :-)

I'm hoping to be able to make to the print shop soon to get a lot of these game printed so I can start doing some rating. Yours will be included for sure!

I tried out few different ideas before settling on "the front lines." I wanted to tie in WWI and the front making subtle shifts back and forth. Thanks for sharing that it helped with adding a bit of emersion in to the game world! I appreciate hear that :-)

Not if you looked here, but you might find downloads in the Analytics.

  1. Go to creator Dashboard
  2. Then click Analytics
  3. Go to the bottom to the Project section
  4. From there click on your post and it gives pretty detailed info included downloads of the files you posted.

Not sure if will display deleted files or not, but it might :-)

Good advice! Thank you! I did make an instructions video, but it’s too long for a quick what’s the game about video. Might try my hand at one if those.

I wasn’t sure either, so I’ve just been clicking the hide button.

Glad to be a part of it! I love the the theme and design constraints - thanks for hosting it!
