Normally I click through the dialogue in VNs quickly, but I found myself pausing to listen to the soundtrack. Parts of the music made me feel like I was playing Ace Attorney, or some other deep memory from that time. 

The writing and characters got me invested, even though I barely knew them. Chipp was off-putting at first, but now I see that he's just an action-movie protagonist going through his BBQ related origin story.

The vibes in this game are perfect, I could have believed that this was an obscure game from the past that was just rediscovered

The idea of a transport game mixed with tower defense has a lot of potential! You really got me thinking about where you could take the game with more time to work on it.

Well done, charming, and meta in all the good ways. Both genres definitely scream “modern nostalgic millennial sensibilities” to me, personally.
