Really cool take on a tower defence game, I like how wild the mascots can get onscreen sometimes, and it's always funny to be concentrating on one thing, then realise there are a whole bunch of enemies bullying your resources at the other end of the map and scrambling to get a train over there.
Only thing that made the game slightly hard to play was my mousewheel doesn't work well these days, so it was a bit difficult to zoom in and out, I couldn't work out the keyboard hotkeys but it wasn't a big problem.
The idea of a transport game mixed with tower defense has a lot of potential! You really got me thinking about where you could take the game with more time to work on it.
I love how refined and complex the game is! Really fun to lay down tracks and I love how smartly they linked up with each other. Amazing
A cool combination with city/transport building simulator with the smoke box theme. Quite challenging to juggle between maintaining the supply chain and keeping my buildings alive!
not at all the kind of game i normally play. i will admit i struggled and was able to beat some levels. but i had fun and felt a great sense of accomplishment on the ones i did beat. the story is fun and making a game like this for the jam really stands out among the field. and the inclusion of a well designed debug/cheats menu was very appreciated since i got to see the whole story despite my struggles
I struggle with strategy games so decided to only watch Kyle play this rather than try it myself. It was cool seeing him go from overwhelmed to really engaged with the mechanics. My main takeaways were the amazing character art and animations like Jambon's tall dinosaur companion, Franky's disturbing log generation, and the squirting cows. Between the music and visuals, the game came across like a Cartoon Network flash game you could sink hours and hours into. And I think the premise ties in perfectly with The Smoke Box. This is a really impressive submission, great job WeakLeaf!
This is a really cool idea for a smoke box game. I really have no idea how you got a game like this to work within a month, seems super complicated! Great work!
