:)
I always tried finding a team in a game jam. It is nice meeting a stranger who has a common interest. I mean it is a jam, why work solo? :p
We met in this jam when I posted a thread about finding a team member. Luckily, I found a really passionate teammate and we made great progress in just a week. kudos to all of my teammates if you are reading this!
it is my fourth game jam. I always had a brainstorming session with my team at the start of the game jam. I usually use tools like Whimsical or Miro to do the brainstorming. Our team members are in different parts of the world in this jam, so we work in a different time zone. It added a challenge, but fortunately, we managed it.
The theme was unique, so we came up with a chill game rather than an action game as we knew there would be many teams doing action games and using a door as some sort of portal. we are heavily inspired by Wes Anderson and Stranger Things for the art of this game. The game turned out to be great, but we didn't manage to implement all the features we wanted. We managed to keep the team spirit at 100% for the entire jam! I don't get enough sleep during the jam hahah, but it's all worth it.

the atmosphere is spooky, but I did not run into anything. I just wandered around the house and nothing came after me. The character's proportion to the object around him is a little small, is the character a child? It would be nice to add ambient music in the background too to make it even spookier!

nice one! I love how it turns to 3D.
here are some inputs from me:
- to increase the game feel, you can turn the music louder and the SFX lower
- at first (the menu) I was confused about how to navigate (I thought it was using the mouse to navigate the UI). The idea of using the character movement to navigate the UI is great, but you should put hints in the menu too.
hi! This is our game, Knock Knock. https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-11/rate/2531378
We all come from different continents (not just countries!). I come from Indonesia, one of my teammates is European, and the other is American. Fortunately we managed to work together despite the difference in the timezone.
btw, nice game. I love how it turns to 3D

great game!
here are some points to make it even better:
- the jump feel seems a little bit off, maybe increases the gravity of the player object?
- I notice some text coming out of the textbox border
- The black border of the game area is a little bit annoying, you can put texture instead of black. for example, put a rock texture.
- the mouse is only used to navigate the menu & close the dialogue box. It will be better to be able to close the dialogue box using keyboard.
I am shocked when the green monster appear!
the first scene can be better if you add music and SFX too! The camera movement with the mouse seems a little slow. It will be nice if the Player can adjust the mouse speed themself. And the jumping is an unnecessary mechanic, given there is nothing to use it for.
but overall good job on the game! the cinematic looks cool!
