Hey Chris! If you’re still reviewing, I would love for you to give your opinion on my soundtrack! https://itch.io/jam/ost-composing-jam-7/rate/2845391

Thank you! I focused pretty heavily on the rhythm in it!

Thank you!

Thanks!

Thanks! This was definitely more of a different style than I’m used to, so I’m glad to see that it worked out!

Thank you very much! I’m glad you liked Grief!

Yeah! Thank you for the description! And you’re right, it does kind of sound like an old Ghost in the Shell OST :)

I really like this! It’s super cohesive and is not overly flashy while also not being boring. It fits the themes perfectly and is mastered very well. Overall, great job! (My favorite track was Dancing with the Fish Spirits by the way!)

This whole soundtrack is a testament to your passion for this. I can see how much work you put into this project, and it most definitely paid off! I love how creative and interesting each track is, and how you reuse motifs in interesting ways. My favorite track personally was “Out of Hiding” because it takes that awesome melody and pairs it with pounding bass and a good beat! If I had any advice to give, it would be on the track “Out of Hiding”. I noticed that the virtual violin had a “startup” period before the note is heard, so it results in a delay when playing. My advice would be to start the note a little earlier than the beat so that the notes line up with the beat. Overall though, awesome soundtrack!

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the composition! I was hoping it would not be too weird when there are multiple elements with the songs that are not similar.

I like this a lot! The instrumentation and composition are very unique, and the melodies and chords are complex! I don't know if this was a deliberate sound choice, but the only advice I would have to give is to leave some space on the end of the track so it doesn't end so abruptly. Other than that, it's great!

Thanks for the great advice! I’ll definitely keep this in consideration!

I love the "atmospheric" feel of this song! Great chord usage with a great melody to go with it! The only thing I can suggest would be to see if there is a way to maybe "soften" the saxophone a little bit, but otherwise, I think its awesome!

Yeah! I thought adding some contrasting chords/melodies would make it seem a little more bittersweet! I wanted it to also make it more interesting to listen to.

I’ll definitely keep that in consideration next time I produce!

Awesome piece! I absolutely love how you can tell what’s happening in the “story” by listening to different parts of the song! I also adore the tempo and time signature changes, it makes it super unique and still keeps its cohesiveness. Keep up the great work!

I like the idea going on! I think you could definitely develop it some more and maybe add some percussion in later into the piece. Overall though, the melody, what I assume is a loop, and chords used all work very well together! And to your DAW, I used GarageBand on iOS for around 5 years before I finally got FL studio a few months back, so I can say with full certainty that GarageBand is a completely valid DAW and can be powerful if used correctly. Keep up the great work and don’t hesitate to ask for help if needed!

Thanks! I’m glad to hear that you could imagine a scene from this song, that’s exactly what I was aiming for!

I love how this tells a story! Good music? Check! Awesome narration? Check! This song is what I believe embodies game and movie music. The emotion and story told through them are their potential, and you used all of it! Congrats!

Thank you for the kind words! I’m glad you enjoyed it!

I really like the melody and progression of this! I love the Undertale vibe (and for some reason, I got a Wizard 101 vibe when I heard the strings come in lol). Also, the swing is awesome; it almost reminds me of a Terraria song!

Thank you! I’m glad to see that some are able to see my vision for it!

Thanks for the input! I’m always looking to improve!
