Thanks for the breakdown! I used similar graphs when I started designing the skills.
I was aiming for a balance between the simplicity of a advantage/disadvantage system with some more granularity for the complexity of a cyberpunk heist.

The progression system is highly visual (size based), and the abilities are very satisfying (love the area where you unlock the bounce up and smash everything).
Great level design where you never soft lock. Color pallet is pleasing.
Some areas for polish: the jump sound effect is a bit too sharp, had to turn volume down after a few min. It seems like the "bounce up" effect goes to varying heights based on how well you time the jump. Players may get confused by this, so it may make sense to make it always give a fixed height jump.
Overall my favorite game played here yet!
Really like the art, the range of your melee attack, and most of the boss attacks! Really wish I could hold down a button to keep attacking since its sort of a long fight. I've gotten pretty stuck on the electricity wall boss attack, I'm seeing now that you can jump really high if you keep holding down jump but it took many tries to figure that out.
Overall you definitely created a really good foundation for a 2d combat game!
I really like the art style and amount of areas and secrets/coins there are. think it would be great to have some sort of minimap/map to show how the regions are connected, It was very well designed so I did not get lost, but I think it would be heard to find all the secrets as is.
Classic metroidvania!

Right now I have a very quiet discord server, but it has a channel for Megacity Mercenaries.

If we can find 2 more people I can run an adventure!
Great first submission! like the ascii art and the premise of collecting things in a top down game. I would suggest working on making the movement smoother. I felt too fast to control, and I bumped into tress since I could not see where I was going. Maybe add padding to the camera so the camera moves before I reach the edge?
Great style, never played a Gameboy game on browser before! Enjoyed the variety in the puzzles/what you did. I did take me a minute to figure out how to get the dialog to start moving, and I think It would be fun to have some victorious music at the end to highlight your accomplishment, but besides that great job!
