thanks I’m glad you enjoyed! Yeah it’s still working on way to teach mechanics to players better but I’ll get there eventually! Yeah I thought about making more interesting levels but I ran into the issue of the breakable ground making some segments randomly really difficult because of the way the block broken. If I were to make it I’d probably replace the enemies non stationary enemies and a grappling hook!

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah i think i should have made it shorter till unbreakable blocks (at least for the start of the game when you hardly know how to wall jump up walls since it doesnt come up very often)

There is an option for particle reduction which may help on that end. Otherwise it may have been that I put too much time stop on explosions. Thanks for the feedback!

There is a setting to reduce particles! This should hopefully solve your issue

Yeah playing it after taking a step back I realized the combat is a quite slow and repetitive. I definitely think the upgrades weren't unique enough and the health of enemies was probably too high. Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! Yeah I just didnt think to add the text to pick up the drops sorry about that!

Hey everyone! I've released my game (ik im early but im out of time). I hope you all enjoy. Please give me feedback so I can continue to improve! Also I was wondering how exactly are we supposed to tell the judges which two mechanics are the ones to be judged? In any case, thanks for playing everyone!

just making sure you understand this is a solo jam and you are not allowed to have teams as it would be cheating. Cheers

Thanks im glad you enjoyed! yeah there really is a lot of ways i could improve the game! I think ill take some time with other projects then come back once find the best way to proceed!

nope it really was pretty easy! its would have been a real pain if i wanted to make the pixels not rotate and have animation instead to make it look better but luckily i didnt go down that route lol

Yeah looking back I think I should have made healing a bit stronger lol and also communicated it a bit better. Yeah I felt like the shadow spells were the most satisfying!

Thanks I'm glad you enjoyed! Yeah the summoning circle was actually super simple to make! It was just a slightly modified cuneiform symbol for earth with a few circles, squares, and two rotating sprite masks for the color change! Will do!

Thanks for playing! Yeah ill def do my best to evolve this idea into something more unique!

ah fair enough. I wanted to make enemies that are weak to certain elements but I didn’t have time sorry about that!

thanks for enjoying! Yeah I think the concept has some decent potential now I just gotta figure out what genre of game to make with it!

yeah that def would have made the game a lot better. Yeah Ik right! I got the idea from watching a YouTube video about a show that had a hard magic system where you had to design spells and I just couldn’t get the idea out of my head!

yeah I was planning to do that if I had time but when the jam came out and it said so green the only thing I could think of was grassy enemies! I’m glad you enjoyed though!

thanks for playing! Yeah I wish I had more time to add better tooltips or a better tutorial. Oh yeah true

What is plan to work on:

1 I want to combine my most recent game jam game with another one of my older ones then expand the gameplay greatly.

2 the goal of this jam is to try make a game that consistently changes playstyles (still in the fast paced action but saw switching between different movement styles)

3 I'm doing this to prove to myself I toward eventually actually releasing a game on steam instead of juts only competing in game jams and then letting my projects die

4 i want to pin down that art style I want to work with and i want to improve the my visual communication to players

5 i want to improve my audio drastically in the sound effect department. I doubt i will have time for time but id also really like to not have to keep using AI music but I think for now its the only decent option i have right now since im still REAL bad at it (and i dont have any money to buy a better software -_-)

* As a full time college student my free time is heavily limited so ill just have to see how much I can get done but I hope you all enjoy whatever i can

glad you enjoyed it! I was planning on making difficulties but I’m glad you enjoyed in nonetheless!

Well i really liked the idea that you have to sneak past it and get through puzzles i just wish it were a tad bit less punishing if you fail

Hey gang I just wanted to let you know there is a quarantined game (at least as of 9 am 8/26/2024 central time) in this jam so be careful what you download and make sure not to click on peoples links in the comments. Have a wonderful day!

Hey man i really liked your game! I wish there were more areas to go to or something more so i could play for longer. also i wish the speed buff also increased your turn speed so it would be easier to control

glad you enjoyed. What did you think of the controls? I’m trying to get as much feedback as possible to continue improving

Totally understandable! still a great game as is tho!

if you mean the infinite stamina i had it happen if i timed a jump off the ground right

Its all good! The amount of the game i could play was really good!

Hey I just finished your game it was pretty good! But I will say that the movement felt a bit clunky and i didnt really see and of the prereq except the starting pistol which I wouldnt really count. Still a pretty fun game tho

Really pretty game! the game feel was wonderful and i really liked the art. unfortunately every few rounds the game would softlock itself and stop spawning enemies so I wasnt really able to appreciate any of it! I hope this game continues to be worked on!

I really liked the game! there were obviously some bugs (i got infinite stamina at some points) but overall its a really good concept with more dev time it could def be built into a decent rage game!

I look forward to seeing it improve!

I really liked your game! i wish it had some sort of challenge since i never really ever had an issue with any enemies. also i wish it was clearer on how to upgrade your lighthouse. I really liked the visuals but it is really in dire need for sounds and music

Oh nice I hope you keep working on it! Thanks for playing my game and I'm glad you enjoyed!

I really enjoyed your game but the fact that the plank only spawns once you already do to the point you need to place it is really annoying on the second playthrough. overall if i was able to finish the game in one try i think i would have had a good time.

I really liked your game! I wish the boss had more than 2 attacks tho because once ive learn those two it was just a few min long pattern waiting for him to die (bro had so much health)! I hope you keep working on this because it can definitely  be expanded!

I played and like your game! I do have to say that lvl 2 seemed REALLY hard compared to the first one. I really like the concept tho

Hey I just finished your game and it was pretty good! The core gameplay is good but I wish there was some end goal or even just score screen. I also wish there was a bit more to do rather than move your mouse like maybe a dash or if you coil the dragon he'll breath fire or something like that! super good base to build a good game off of tho!
