notes:

1. I didn't really see any difference between the story mode and endless mode....  or maybe I just have trouble beating the first stage in story.... (sigh)

pro:

1. I like having constant music going on in the background!

2. All the graphics is there to communicate to the user easily what everything is intended to be, we know exactly that the red is the area that the cows would be captured etc

con:

1. while there isn't a lot of features built in at the moment due to the lack of development time, I think it's a good start and there are a lot of untapped potentials to be had!

pros:

1. The presentation! the graphics, music, and animation of the people dancing all look great! teh random goose is also a nice touch lol

2. the complexity of the drinks and the combinations is just great!

3. It's not an easy game at all and I can only imagine there's a lot of logic going on managing the queue of people with the different stands and making that bug free

4. Game gets harder and harder between stages and doesn't give the player a break!

5. the idea of having drinks, beer, coconut, decorations etc is just perfect for the game!

con:

1. Sometimes, the people's body blocks the drink so that if I pre-placed a smaller drink on teh table, while that's not what the person wanted, the graphics of the person would block the drink sometimes.

2. I wish I can "swap" a drink on the table with what I have on my hand to further the strategies that I can deploy when serving drinks

3. I could really use some kind of cheat sheet with all the combinations....

(1 edit)

pro:

1. it's hilarious LOL

2. I don't know if I can describe this well enough, but the sense of progression is AMAZING. When you go from one island to another, the way how the camera zooms WAY out, and then zoom back in, really gives you a sense of scale of the stage and the game. The way how it makes you feel that everything connects instead of flipping the pages to a selection of stages one after another really blew my mind. Also, you CAN still shoot when your car is moving from one island to another!

3. No load times between stages, or maybe just very well hidden load times. (I did notice that the load times to start the game is a bit long, so I assumer that everything was loaded up front that's why)

4. the car physics. If I let off the gas, I can still steer the car until it completely loses momentum.

5. Are the sound effect of the car..... human voices? LOL Again, this adds to the hilarious note if it is, coz it kinda sounded like it. The background sounds and the attention to details of the sound effect is great, and every now and then I can hear sea gulls.

con:

1. it's very short

2. In a way, it's more of a presentation than a game that poses challenges to the player.

notes:

1. what are the water bottles for? is it purely cosmetic?

pro:

1. really cute assets in 3D!

con:

1. Some issues with collision detection that I died despite the shark is quite far away

2. the camera is a bit too close

Nice classic top down shooter! the graphics is very direct and communicate what I'm looking at and what everything was supposed to be!

Notes:

1. What is the experience for? was it meant to be something but the idea was abandoned?

2. does it actually matter which stage I play first? It seems like we still have to beat all stages before getting to the boss

pros:

1. Love the mini map, it reminds me of star fox in a way!

2. since the mini map actually shows the stage's layout, it gives me an idea of how to navigate the map ahead of time

3. Man, it's hard lol

4. I really appreciate the reload gauge being a bar, I can quickly tell how long it takes for me to use the attack again to play for the next move

Cons:

1. one thing I was a bit confused about was the graphics of the box on the island. I kept thinking that it's something that I can pick up, as the size of it is smaller than the other obstacles, and about as big as the rum bottle

2. I ran into a VERY minor graphical bug. When I start the game, I have a single gun. But when picking up the first dual wielded hand gun, the original single gun's graphics didn't disappear, so I ended up with what looks like 3 guns (with the original single gun in the middle). The bug is also interesting because, I seem to see the bug only when I'm aiming to the right, but the middle gun disappears when aiming to the left

3. I haven't exactly found the melee to be very useful unfortunately. When using a slower reloading gun, it seems to be a better strategy to avoid and hide to wait for the reload, and let the obstacles to stop the enemies from proceeding, than to actually try to use the melee. The way how the enemies searches for me would quickly swarm me if I try to use the melee, and the reload time of the melee weapons are longer than most of the range weapons that I've used. (I also want to stress that, this could be due to the fact that I couldn't only make it to the first boss stage....)

4. the last zombie can be very hard to find....

5. the quit button after death doesn't seem to work

6. (This is more of a design choice than a con really...) If I haven't drank the rum on the island, I'll lose it when I finish the stage. I'll basically have to drink the rum before I kill the last enemy.

Random ideas for future additions to the gameplay:

1. maybe if the same weapon was picked up, it will upgrade the weapon and improve the attack power/reload time/firing rate

2. faster reloading melee weapon, because there's already a huge risk to use it to begin with

first of all, GREAT GRAPHICS!! the graphics is the first thing that really stood out to me!

The music is also very fitting for the relaxed feel of the game as well

The game fits the theme very well!

Notes:

1. Did I say I really liked the graphics??

2. the gameplay is simple and very direct, took me a few tries to understand how to catch on the fish with pulsing the space bar, but it's very easy to figure it out even without reading the tutorial.

3. I think there would be a few things that I would appreciate to see in terms of the game's feedback to the user:

a) letting me know when I've caught/couldn't catch a fish with a quick text (like a "congrats!" or "too bad!")

b) letting me know that my fish box is full with a warning

c) do the fishes sell for different prices at different island? if not, I feel that maybe we can have the price of the fish to be part of the fish's name?

Ideas for future changes to gameplay:

Since the game was meant to be chill, I think it achieved what it's trying to do.

Here's some ideas to add to the gameplay that I can think of:

Have some kind of count down timer/time limit, and if so, it would be great if we can release a fish, in the same spot where the sell button is. If the boat is next to a shop, it's a sell button, otherwise, it's a release fish button. That way the player will have to strategize if it's worth sailing all the way back to the shop to sell the fish, or just dump it and fish for something else.
