Exciting! Can't wait for the great changes of the already great tool.

Just a suggestion though: maybe move it to SDL2 and fix fonts first and then start the redesign and all that? Here's why: some users like exactly what they have at the moment and that's what they've paid for. Changing the core tool's elements design will change everything for the end user.

Having the current version with fixed major issues (like the fonts) and stopping its support along with an announcement after would probably be a smoother move from the customers' perspective, keeping the built trust. Then just do whatever was initially decided already and everyone's happy in the end.

That being said; I will support you and whatever you do with this tool. Good luck with the new code and I hope you will have a lot of fun with the new riddles :)

Kind regards.

That was great, thank you.

Thank you. I want the pickup animation, but that was against the rules, so I decided I'll do everything else when the jam will be finished.

Thank you for the feedback, especially for mentioning the small size of UI elements. The random pitch of the same sounds is what's being used in thousands of simple games and what I've been doing since my first games many years ago. Sorry for the confusion, I wanted to give players some little feeling of adventure and let them to explore the quite tiny thing I've built for the concept demo, you supposed to follow the road to meet other villagers. The cave re-generation is intended, of course it should not be seen, I guess that happened after I've changed the game's resolution or trigger collider size, oops.

Woah. It was so solid and had a great twist, loved it.

Thank you very much. As has been said before it's all just a concept, the whole jam time was spent mostly on figuring out how generic things would work better together in the process and overall design (feeling of the game), of course the existing content is basically just a placeholder as you can tell. I thought if plenty of players would be interested in it to be continued I'd take a chance to push it further, but as of now I don't think it's really worth putting much more time into it, sadly.

Thank you for trying it out, David. Hm... Yeah, I guess it would be easier to control, maybe I'll redo it or add it as another controls mode sometime later.

Instructions were unclear, my favorite bottom organ has stuck in a fan and my wife demands a divorce.

Stupid jokes aside, great game, I just wish it was longer, it gave me some psychological horrors vibe (e.g. Doki Doki Literature Club! and alike).

Great job so far, really.

Hello. I still have about 28 hours left. If you'll like what I'm working on right now then you could join to the submission: Windows build, macOS build. My Discord name is Art#1785.

Here's my overall progress in this video.

You're using a function for 3D world physics (PhysX), you want RaycastHit2D (Box2D) instead: https://docs.unity3d.com/ScriptReference/RaycastHit2D-distance.html
There's also Vector2.Distance(object1.transform.position, object2.transform.position) function just in case. Good luck with your thing there, Spellsmith.

Here's new link with macOS build: https://filedn.com/llDOBu4UeRrXJJbkL00fXh5/Miz%20Jam%201/Villa%20Custos.zip There's some weird collision bug that happens only with builds, will have to figure out why later, probably Unity's bug.

Couldn't send a message right away, sent a friend request.

Hah, oops. Like, 99% of time people are on Windows, and now that, heheh. I'll message you on Discord.

That's weird. I saw a guy from there who's been streaming developing his submission and he's been importing someone's path finding code from GitHub while watching Brackey's tutorial on the same topic. Anyway, thank you for letting us know, good to know.

I think you better ask this on his Discord right away: https://discord.gg/y96XYdd

Hello. I've already answered to another alike thread, but I've decided to write to you as well. Here's my other post: https://itch.io/post/1879157 In the post you'll find the early Windows build of the game I'm making for the jam. I still have 39 hours left. Please let me know if you'd like to join my submission. Never mind now. Good luck!
