The Story :
Once upon a time, a group of adventurers entered an ancient dungeon. All of them but one perished. The only survivor was badly wounded but he brought back unimaginable wealth and became one of the richest men ever known. Since that day hundreds of warriors have taken their chance in the Modnar Dungeon. However most of them were never seen again.
As soon as the hero enters the dungeon, the entrance collapses and the only way is to move forward.
The game :
Modnar Dungeon is a mix between a CRPG and a Roguelike where Darkest Dungeon meets Final Fantasy. The player alternates exploration phases and CRPG fights resulting in short game loops to fit mobile gaming.
Most of the development will be done on itch.io then the game will be ported to android as a free to play with rewarded video ads.

Web build 0.1.4, April 24th 2021
Available features : dungeon generator with 6 different rooms, exploration/fight loop, CRPG fights (only attack and escape actions), inventory system.
Let me know how I can improve the game especially next week when I will upload all these new features. In the meantime you can already try the web demo. Stay in touch and come back here next week please.

I enjoyed your game. Here is my feedback :
1. Whether you had problems understanding the mechanics
=> i got it. The double attack with quick and standard was a bit strange to me. I think player could easily miss it.
2. Whether it was fun to play (and more than anything: what was fun)
=> yes that was fun. I liked the end level reward where you can choose skills and customize your team. I was happy to recruit a Vampire. I like the difficulty, a bit easy but ok.
3. What is it that you don't like (or whether you feel like this game takes a wrong direction in general)
=> I didn't like that much the sprites, especially the enemies but the heros are great. I think the UI can be improved but that's ok for a proto. Maybe the text can be bigger, or maybe I am getting older... Oh ! And I am not a big fan of windows install, i did it nevertheless because you spend 9 month on it and because of the TRPG roguelike genre that I enjoy. I suggest that you upload a webgl build.
4. Whether the text on my itch.io page helped you to get an image of the game
=> Not really. But the screenshot helped.
I just red wolf comment and I agree with him regarding the blury character. I think the same, something is wrong when you import the sprite and I am pretty sure you forget about the compression ;)

I played your game and enjoy it. It's fun and weel made. Pico8 is awesome ! congratulation.
To help you improve your game i have 2 little things to say. Maybe you can had music ? And also, some ennemies a shooting at the player, but when this enemy is on the left or right, this is impossible to avoid for the player (almost happen to me once).
So yes, I enjoyed it :)
I tried the first person view and it make me feal more in a simulation than an arcadegame. I can play with only one hand. nice !
In third person view I used the mouse for the camera to control the camera. What I mean by reset the camera is a key to move the camera behind the aircraft in order to see ahead. You have that feature in many 3rd person action game. This is just an idea, my main issue was I couldn't control the camera how I wanted to.
But yes, my first impression was "the technical stuff and the code must be quit good behind that aircraft physics"

In this randomly generated dungeon, you alternate exploration and fight. The goal is to become rich and leave this dungeon alive.
This is a demo and many more features will be added. We are looking for testers and feedback. The goal is to have a playable version for android for this summer.
