Wow, that is creepy... I was checking my game rating, and playing some of the winners, got a job just after jam, so been busier.  Really good, unique idea, and the first creepy thing, don't want to spoil, is really creepy! haha Great Idea, you def earned your spot in that top 10.

Dang, its very hard, but put together well. I would definitely say that zombies are far more horror inducing than self doubt tho! haha Self doubt can create zombies though...Good Game.

I liked your use of the 3d and the shadows/lights in Gdevelop. I still have a hard time making them useful, but the potential is obviously there. Good game, running from the ghost was a bit stressful!

Getting chased by pastel zombies in a maze of cubes covered in sponge bob style art, isn't horror inducing? haha Hopefully the update will be more unpleasant. Thanks for the feedback!

Good eye! Yes, with the right color settings, you can in fact see the little shaking heads. The update has them about 2-3 pixels shorter...I actually have a hard time getting a route with no zombies, and I know the super secret mechanics behind their placement...Acutally one hint, the left and right edge columns of cubes have no zombies. Otherwise its somewhat random. As mentioned in other posts, I have just finished my animations for my pulsating orbs and flailing ghosts, and bigger levels. Thanks for the feedback!

For some reason the UI got whacked out big time. I don't know why the text boxes alpha'd out the buttons on the web version. Apparently web version is a bit unforgiving. The zombie were a goblin type guy I had made already. The time it took to convert him to a zombie and the player and do the animations (which still f's with me in blender!) I figured it was fair to use. I'm finishing up a bigger better version, more levels, more foes, which was half done at the time of submission...

Tnanks for the feedback. I hadn't actually thought of minesweeper, but I guess a blind luck minesweeper. haha. I have more in an update, that I'l have ready very soon. I just got down to the wire, and had to submit what I could.

Hi. I really enjoy the game. Reminds me a bit of old school (in good way) flash games, but without the wonkiness. Great job on putting it together. The only odd thing, when the items pop up, like the fork, it says "return to game" down in the corner, and I thought I had somehow paused it or something. I figured it out pretty quick though.

Yep, need more levels, I ran out of time and had to keep it simple. I do have more in store tho. The camera controls were basically just for me to look around while developing, and decided to leave them. But I'd like to simplify the cam, cover the important stuff without providing the ability to soar into the void. Although I do appreciate freedom in games. haha  I'm going to update then the rating period is over. Thanks for the feedback and I appreciate it, since your game is very impressive. I'll say hi over there!!

(1 edit)

Right on. I do in fact have several levels basically completed. I was running out of time on the Scream Jam and had to just scrap my larger effort and finish the one level that was basically my first run, "you must finish this you slacker" level. Time sped up too quickly as it tends to. As you can see I submitted it a little less than 2 hours to deadline. Anyway, I have hell hounds, orbs and other deadly obstacles to incorporate, as well as more larger levels. A small bit of inspiration is the "Realm of Impossibility" 8 bit game. I do actually have a concept for a cut scene of possibly a vortex sucking the player into another world via the opened door to a crypt, while visiting a cemetery.  The whole idea just popped in my head, playing with the add cube object in Gdevelop. When inspiration hits, you have to squeeze the life out if it.  I think I have to wait for the rating period to be over, before I can update. Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it. I'm glad you enjoyed it, I actually enjoy it myself, which is very important imo. Oh, I tried to play your game, I think using a Mac goofed it up. I'll try another method.
