I'm glad you enjoyed Mansions of Secrets. I'm working on the next adventure in this style, The Institute. I've released a demo that includes the game's introduction. If you're interested, I would love for you to check it out.

Coincidentally, I just downloaded Twine and tried to understand how it works. I love it; it's just what I've been looking for. It's perfect for narrative, not as schematized as Inkle.  I don't know Renpie, but I think I'll give it an eye in the future.

This is excellent writing.   I recently became interested in creating text-based adventures with Inky, but I'm far from this level. No wonder this adventure is having success. I wonder which engine was used to make it.

Sadly, I don't understand how the program works, so I have decided to keep uploading games manually.

Can't wait to play it!

Thank you!

I can speak only for myself, but I think the keyboard controls would feel more intuitive if I could use the up arrow to jump (unless it's bound to another movement control), Ctrl to Shoot, and Alt to Dash. If Up Arrow is already taken, then old good Spacebar would be suitable.

I know the problem and asked for help on the Pixel Game Jam Discord channel.

When trying to authenticate butler in the  Command Prompt, I get this message:

"butler" is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file

Help?

Thank you!

Thank you for rating my game and suggesting a way to fix the player sprite problem. I was looking for a way to improve it. Your suggestions on the gameplay are appreciated and are already being worked on.

A puzzle game anything but obvious and where humor reigns supreme. I found it very entertaining, but not as easy as it seems.

I'm glad you like the game! Thanks for playing!

This game is really good. It looks very professional, especially from my beginner perspective. The main menu interface is well-structured and the visual and sound effects are amazing. The game design and mechanics are also impressive. However, I found it difficult to play with the keyboard controls, which makes me think it was primarily designed to be played with a controller. I believe it would be a lot more fun to play with a gamepad, but unfortunately, I don't have one. I love the overall visuals and the classic console arcade style of this game.  I almost forgot! The initial cinematic presenting the lore is so engaging and well Excellent work!

Thank you so much ^^

Thank you so much! Be sure to follow the updates, as I have other ideas to implement to make the game more fun and challenging!

I  was surprised by this game because I wasn't expecting a full-blown RPG. The Lovecraftian atmosphere is well-rendered thanks to the dark setting and the intense battle music.

While there is a clear setting the player is moving through, the immersion is broken when I come across scenes that could have been better represented graphically. For example, when you reach the river bank, you can see the river and the stone floor you are walking on. I would like to see this scene better represented. Also, in the scene where you come across a mural dotted with symbols, it would be nice to have a graphic representation of it, which does not have to be detailed. Even scenes where the scene is described only through text could very well have an image to help the immersion.

I will refrain from commenting on the game mechanics, as they are beyond my current experience. However, I noticed that there are really a lot of fights with hostile entities, but no interactions with characters of different types. Including a mechanic like that could give the game a sense of greater spaciousness and expand the game lore. Unless I haven't played enough to encounter these types of characters that are actually already present in the game. In that case, I take it all back.

It is definitely a game that needs to be played to the end to give a definitive final judgment and more experience than I have.

I really enjoy the marine pollution theme of this game. It's a very serious issue that deserves more attention. The gameplay is good, but I did encounter some issues that I think you should address.

When the player enters the water, the movement feels glitchy and it seems like the player is stuck. Also, jumping over obstacles on land is a bit difficult when using the spacebar, but it's okay when using the up arrow.

I carefully read the tutorial, and I know that you specified to press Enter when reaching the end of the level, but it would be helpful to remind the player with an icon or a text prompt at the end of every level to make it easier and more intuitive to move to the next level.

Additionally, I found that the tutorial prompts appear too slowly. It would be better to freeze the game to give the player time to read the tutorial and understand what to do. I tend to play quickly, and I had already almost finished the tutorial level before the text prompts appeared. Also, it would be helpful to add a warning about the hostile anglerfish, even though they don't do much damage.

Lastly, I had difficulty distinguishing the healthy fish from the sick ones, especially if they were a different color than the standard ones, and I promise I'm not color blind.

In conclusion, I really like this game, especially the ocean-cleaning mechanics, but it could use some tweaks. Well done!

I was initially confused because I couldn't see well and kept bumping into objects. I tried improving the graphics quality, but that didn't help. Then, I noticed a strange button in the main menu with a wrench symbol, which usually indicates game settings. Surprisingly, it led to instructions on how to play the game. After reading the instructions, I really enjoyed the game. I'm impressed by the echo localization mechanic; it's truly brilliant. I've played a few games on itch.io, but this one really impressed me. My only suggestion is to make accessing the game's command menu more intuitive. Otherwise, great work!

This game is fantastic! I really enjoy the top-down vertical movement, and I'm pleasantly surprised by the fact that the character is controlled solely using the mouse. The immersive atmosphere is created by the great assets and sound design. However, I encountered an issue at the point where the phrase "Do I... still need light" appears on the screen. I couldn't figure out how to progress past that point. I attempted to move forward, but all I could see was a black screen. Additionally, I believe it would be beneficial to have a pause menu with a "Quit Game" button; I had to use ALT + F4 to exit the game. Other than that, great work!

Very simple game, but expecting the end of the jam to expand it further. Your feedback would be appreciated.
