This game was pretty fun. I would suggest adding some music and sfx so things don't feel so quiet. I would also maybe gradually increase the rate of fire per wave, so things don't start off hard. I like the powerups and how it changes your shape and allows you to be hit a couple of times before dying completely. I did get an error message when I hit an enemy after getting through a couple of waves, it wasn't super clear on what it was about though. All in all, a good game with potential.
Rate my game and I will rate yours! I will be honest: https://itch.io/jam/geojam-2021/rate/1134402
I am unfortunately not an artist so I used Kenney's assets for that side of things. Thank you for playing my game, it's my first ever one so I am glad it wasn't too easy or too hard haha. If I had not been so focused on trying to code for the first time, I probably would have added a lot more to it. I like the idea of an animation on the right hand side, I did think about maybe trying to get the loading bays to roll(?) but unfortunately didn't have enough time. Thank you for your feedback, it's much appreciated!
Rated your game, here's mine: https://itch.io/jam/geojam-2021/rate/1134402
Loving the retro vibe and the music is pretty good too. I have noticed however that if you stay alive past the end of the song, it suddenly becomes very silent and it didn't start up again until I died, so I would maybe change that so it loops. Other than that, I think the game is simplistic but in a good way, and it's not super easy nor is it super hard once you get the hang of things. All in all, it's a good game.
I believe that this game has a lot of potential. I did find myself being rather amused by the audio that plays when you lose a round. I will say that the loading between scenes is a little slow, like when I press to go to go the credits, the scene takes a tiny bit to actually load. Same goes for when you click to restart. I enjoyed the concept, it was pretty cool. All in all, a good game and I think it is fairly simple but not super easy to play.
Game has a lot of potential, but I will say that it was kind of hard to start doing anything. I ran around clicking for a bit and it took me a bit to figure out that the E key is the interaction key. Once I had figured that out, the game was pretty easy. The music was great and the game does fit the theme pretty well, and I can see it going somewhere. I would suggest putting something in game that indicates what keys to press so players don't do what I did and run around in the room at the beginning trying to figure that all out. For now, even just putting those instructions on the game page would be beneficial, All in all, I thought it was pretty good and I wish your team all the best with its development!
This game is alright when I know what I am doing, but I will say that some kind of indication on screen about what to press and what to do would be beneficial. Without the game page, I would only know to move around with WASD and that's about it. Once I figured things out, it was pretty good, I could see the concept and I thought the switching from the chef to the waiter was pretty cool. However, I did encounter a few bugs. The chef would sometimes attach himself to the corners of his kitchen if I moved too quickly, and I would have to close the game and start over. When I tried to clean the tables it would not work, and I received an error message. I'm sure these bugs can be easily fixed, so I am not overly bothered by them. Overall, it is a cool concept and I can see it going somewhere with fixes and small additions, and I think it fit the theme pretty well.
