Good Idea

Developer

Thanks :D

Glad you liked it!

Nice game ^^

I think you could have less inertia so that he falls faster, it could improve the responsiveness of control.

The hit on the spikes and aliens is a bit off with the visual.

Developer

Thanks :D

You're right, the hit kinda goes on even after the player is dead. I guess the collider isn't getting destroyed due to whatever noodly thing I've done to the script.

The inertia thing I was a bit torn on. On one hand we thought making it faster would feel more dynamic...but then we figured hey, it's space after all. Maybe things should be kinda floaty. Do you think more inertia would feel better?

no, i mean less )
as for the death loop, i had this too if player dies in a laser or other hazard, the death animation starts looping. Solved it with making that event happen only once per respawn.

Developer

Ah! Thanks :), I'll try both the suggestions once the jam is done.

Cheers :D

Well done but needs a lot of polishing!!
As said by Atomic Burning, try to impalement the cooldown or something

Developer

Thank you so much! We highly appreciate the feedback.

Once this jam is done, we shall definitely try to add in further gameplay elements and polish the ones already in place. In fact, we're planning to overhaul the entire game so as to cut out the weird scripts that are causing some of the issues.

Cheers :)

I like it! Fantastic graphics and the gameplay is fairly enjoyable. I think there should be a cool down on attacking, as currently you can just spam it and kill everything before it fully loads in

Developer

Thanks! We're really glad that you liked our game!

And you're absolutely right. We do need to increase the time between successive attacks. A cool down should do the trick without seeming like artificial padding!

This is game is super well polished, and it has fun gameplay too! I rarely had bugs.

Thank you so much for the review. We are glad that you liked our game.

Very nice game. I like it but you might want to disable the player hitbox after dying since the *ting* sound still plays whenever a spike passess through the death spot.

Developer

Ah, you found that one, eh? :D We were trying to get rid of that, but then we ran out of time, unfortunately. The previous build was allowing us to fire the weapon after death, if you can believe that.

We shall definitely fix that going forward. This is our first game ever, and we are committed to making it an increasingly enjoyable experience over time. We highly appreciate any and all feedback.

Cheers :)

I believe that this game has a lot of potential. I did find myself being rather amused by the audio that plays when you lose a round. I will say that the loading between scenes is a little slow, like when I press to go to go the credits, the scene takes a tiny bit to actually load. Same goes for when you click to restart. I enjoyed the concept, it was pretty cool. All in all, a good game and I think it is fairly simple but not super easy to play.

Thank you so much for the review! This is our first game ever, and we're still learning how to get Unity to do what we want it to. Hopefully we'll get better at it and be able to optimize this game after the jam ends.

But we're super glad that you liked it :D. We had fun with the sound effects and adjusting the difficulty curve so that it feels challenging, but not impossibly so. Cheers! :)
