Controller support added, thanks for the idea!

Thanks for the playthrough and kind words! The beginning is probably the toughest part, gets easier as you level.

This was awesome, one of my favorite games so far! and difficult lol

Nice job completing the game. Just need to fix the controls, but keep it up!

You did a really nice job with everything. Making everything yourself is really impressive, love that even the NPCs had animations.

And I felt tricked losing that gold!

Thank you for playing! Did you use full screen? I need to work on my camera but you should see the entire UI in full screen.

Nice little demo you have. Bunch of cool mechanics that could work on a much larger scale game, keep at it. Only issue was the character model seemed to block my view when looking up. Other than that it worked well! And I knew something was up with that ladder...

Appreciate the feedback. Yea I haven't tried creating a game with controller support, maybe that's next... I wasn't overly happy with my Player Controller either and am spending some time afterwards trying to make it better.

Curious when you say high camera, do you mean you can't see what's below you?

Ahh okay, I'll have to give it another shot! Thanks for playing my game as well

Appreciate that!

Really nice work on the game, Art and Audio set the mood! Impressive making all this in a week, and cool mechanics with the different abilities. Maybe some animations for them as well would be cool.

Look around speed is a bit too fast and the player needs some momentum when you let go of movement, but other than that its really well done. Nice!

Also liked the save and load!

Fun little game, wasn't sure if it mattered which weapon I picked up to change the level but it was cool that that happened. Music and art fits well. I died and couldn't figure out how to restart or go back to the main menu though.

either way, great work!

Nice job on the game, very cool idea to add the fake gems. Was a bit tough to try and memorize the gems but still fun.

Cool little touches too, menu looks good with audio. And all the helpful UI info + pause screen. Well done!

Thanks for playing! I enjoyed making the enemy mechanic,  art and sound effect.

Nice picking that up, it was part of my inspiration

One of the most polished games I've played yet, great job from all of you. It wasn't as easy as I thought it would be either, very clever idea.

Only suggestion is maybe make the audio clips shorter, or have some text as well for main points? I know it was a short period so probably tough to get a rewind/fast forward feature, it was just a lot to have to go through the audio more than once to pick up on something. But loved the volume control too and the art to go with it.

You guys obviously put a lot of care into this so great work!

Great job on everything. Artwork, animations, music, and mechanics all work well together and the lanterns was a clever idea.  That first giant room was a little intimidating, maybe ease the player into all those concepts? But other than that it was fun!

Great work completing the game! Nice job on the art work and Audio too, it was pleasant. I like that you also included some different chat options and branching possibilities.

That is a hard game... but great job on the mechanic execution. The art and animations are cool, try adding some Audio too to really capture the mood. Wish we had some way of seeing the skeletons field of view, but other than that it was fun. And your sister did a great job with the cover art, its what drew me in.

Would love to see an update in the future!

New World Record! Nice work completing your first game jam!

I'm not sure how it fits the theme but at least you completed it. Spend some time adding a few touches like player health, a main menu, restart when dying, and some audio.

But I like the cloud saving your score, really cool!

Great idea, and nice job executing it too. Fits the theme well.  A couple additions like animations, and a restart/quit option would have been nice.  And I did encounter a couple bugs (besides the moth). When going back to some rooms you entered from the start instead of the exit which you should be coming back through. This also messed up the map which became unusable. This is specifically after the first invisible death maze room. The player gets stuck on some walls too.

But other than that it was fun. Great puzzles and I like the art for the Moth! I'm sure with a little more dev time these things could be fleshed out, excited to see if it gets an update!

Lol great ending! Nice work on making all the art and music too! Little frustrating having to do that last level 3 times and I might choose a different button for the goggles but overall was fun!

Well that was terrifying.... Cool idea and nice job making everything. I don't think I was doing anything with the wood, switch, or wheel but I felt the horror either way. And it fits the theme!

Keep updating it!

Really cool environment, music added to it when it kicked in too. Unfortunately I couldn't figure out where to go nor what I was supposed to do after the first flower. Maybe I missed something... *Edit at the bottom after playing again*

That's a unique concept and great fit for the jam theme. Nice job!

Edited: Such a beautiful game, art and animations are great. Saw the gate this time, I missed it the first time. My only suggestion would be to give the player some kind of queue that the gate opened when the flower is picked up. A noise or text that says you hear something in the distance... idk. Either way, great job!

Nice job submitting a game! I couldn't play in browser so I downloaded. Super weird game, I like the crazy ideas. Got a little frustrated dealing with the item/inventory system and trying to figure out how to grow rifles once I ran out of bullets. Also audio would have been nice.

But nice work completing it, maybe spend some time working out a few of the bugs? Could be a lot of fun!

Nice game, got a good laugh at the end with the reveal too lol. Thought it was an idle game at first but the comets and end goal made it more fun!

Try making some of the art and sounds next time, even if its just a couple assets.

I also really like what you did for the intro/outro with camera work, overall great job!

Such a clever game, I really like it! Spikes weren't very visible, and I think the mechanic works well with this shorter style game.

But really well executed and fits perfectly with the game jam, nice work!

You guys created a great game! It was confusing at first to know when I could shift but figured it out a few levels in and enjoyed the experience :)

Only complaints would be that the controls tired out my fingers and that I wish there was more leeway when returning to normal from shifting. Died too many times with just a pixel or two clipped in the wall.

Overall felt very polished! Great music, art, animations and level design.

Interesting, played it a few times and don't think I encountered that bug. I do know that if you hit the corner you might not bounce as much. And walking on them might not bounce you. I'll have to keep testing though, thanks!

Next update will have a volume control too :)

Thank you for playing and for the feedback!

Seems to be a consistent complaint, thanks for playing!

That was fun, very clever idea! And although the graphics and audio could use some work, bonus points for making everything from scratch. Game kept surprising me for how simple it looked, and I laughed a couple times too (Pickaxe on the head is great).

Finding the gold was a bit tedious and I gave up on the final boss, he was super tough.

But great job finishing the jam!

So I really like this game... It was an interesting take on the Theme, I think it could have been more incorporated but either way nice work. And as you probably know, the Graphics and Audio are lacking.

But the game is super fun. Love the combination of platformer and RPG. Punching the enemies and gaining abilities was enjoyable. And the clock at the end "rewinding time" was really cool.  (With more dev time you should make an effect here).

Nice work, was hoping for another level lol

Very interesting, like the ominous music and the rolling player. Nice little touches too with the text in game and the ability to change color palettes.  A few QOL changes like automatic restart after death and not having to go back to the game menu each restart would be nice.  But good use of the items for the theme!

Thank you for playing and for the feedback! I’ll take art style consistency into consideration next time. I’m also working on a better 2D player controller that will take deceleration into account. Yours feels pretty good!

Thanks for playing, had a lot of fun making the sound effects!

Thanks for playing! 2nd person to mention the slow acceleration so I’ll have to take a look. My next project is spending time perfecting a 2d player controller.

Great job creating something out of the ordinary! Not quite sure if there is a game to be played or a point but it was definitely interesting.  Also the theme could have been more prevalent.

I did notice I could Send letters without typing anything, maybe a bug?

Well done for your first game jam! Creative and fun!

Don't quite understand all the mechanics, like why I lose health when I eat another bug. Also would have liked to see the theme incorporated more. But overall great work!
