Yeah, in the end, we didn't to strike the balance we wanted in the game. We were supposed to make it so you could win the game by either staying slim, small and fast, and having to avoid all the objects, or by being fat, bigger and slower, while being able to just run through the objects and they get pushed away.

But in the end, we didn't manage to balance it that way before the time was up, so had to submit what we had, which was just completion by eating apples and remaining small :/

Fun and seemingly polished for just having ten days to work on it. Nicely done!

Piggie buddies! We almost did a game related to a pig hunting for truffles though! Love the graphics, seems well polished. Character controller was alright too

Thank you! :)

That was really cool! Interesting to see a Bevy FPS game leveraging the graphical capabilities. Interesting and well-made environments. Echoing what others have said that the gameplay could do with a bit more variety, but the rest of the game holds it up despite that.

My first try, the first platform moved slowly to the left and no other platform arrived :(

The other times it worked better! And damn was it difficult at times, especially when the keyboard got reverted, impossible for me. But it was a fun game, albeit too difficult for me :D I like the variety of the effects (both gameplay and visual), and the sound was neatly done too.

Fun game :) Could do with some more player feedback (like showing when I hover the right place to place a tower), allow player to start the game after reading the instructions and balancing. I seemed to have found the one optimal strategy at my first try:

[Blue][Green][Orange]
----------------------------
[Blue][Green][Orange]

Then I just upgraded each tower when I could. Ended up with a score of 20.000 before I got bored :)

I also couldn't figure out what "Power" was and the impact it had. Overall it felt like a good game though.

I definitely enjoyed the humor and the dark angle of the game, but the game itself plays way too slow to be fun for longer than a minute or two. I still quite like the idea of the game though.

Side-effects and effects on the sides, nicely done :)

You're not alone, I screwed that up in my own game too! Lessons learned :)

obviously not my type of game, only managed to get 100 at the most :( Fun idea though and felt polished enough for the time we had available :) Would be great if there was some indication on when you got to close to the maximum, so it would have been easier to know when to drop of the hens, like the pile sways more or something. Overall, was a fun game :)

Well made and fun gameplay idea! I had some issues with balls getting stuck inside my square, but overall it felt polished and proper :) Nicely done!

Overall, pretty cool game. Some issues with towers falling down by themselves after placement, but regardless it was a fun twist on the traditional tower defense game.

Crazy but well implemented idea! Fun puzzles with the right amount of difficulty, coupled with cute graphics. Sweet game :)

Neat little jam version of Overcooked :) Was a bit hard to figure out the controls and the right places to put things so they are placed in the right location, and lack of feedback made it extra hard to understand how to use the mixer. Overall I think it's a cool idea and interesting graphics. I couldn't figure out what the side-effect theme was supposed to come in though.

Cool game! Tricky to get the right balance which was neat, took some time to figure out the right balance, but was fun. The game is very unforgiving and could be a bit frustrating before you get a hang of it. In general it felt well made.

Woho, that's amazing! Thank you!

Haha, yeah, game loop is a bit repetitive, in the end we spent maybe ~5 days in total on it and couldn't squeeze in more into it to make it a bit more varied. Glad you liked it regardless, thanks :)

Hah! We love donuts of course, but they do come with side-effects, especially as we get older and lazier... Thank you :)

Yeah, indeed, thanks for reporting it regardless :)

Glad you liked the art at least :D Thank you!

Cool game! Nicely done! Some of the powers felt a bit too powerful and not enough side-effects, like the explosion one. Felt like I could complete the game by just using that, and didn't seem to have any immediate drawback except it has to rest for a bit. Otherwise, neat game for sure :)

That's a really cool idea! Wish there were more levels! Definitely can see this as a proper puzzle game if you continue at it after the jam.

Nicely done! The idea is cool, would love to see it expanded :) Looking forward to your game in Bevy Jam #4, I'm sure it'll be ever better :)

Only one piece of thing that could be better: movement speed, felt like I was moving through molasses :D Other than that, I think you did a great job for your first game!

Woho, glad you liked it! :) Thank you

Thanks a lot for the feedback, very valuable!

I took a look at the code and I (the programmer) fucked up. Was messing with the energy + stamina + fatness relationship and commented out the frame delta calculation while doing so, and never added it back before releasing the game! It's in a comment right next to where it should be... Unfortunately I only had time to test it on 60hz display (my laptop is 120hz) so never caught it myself...

My wife thanks you for appreciating her art she threw together in haste!

Regarding lack of feedback, you're absolutely right, could have been done better... The corn ultimately gets generated automatically based on the covered distance in your run, but that's not clear at all. Also, the mud patches are supposed to slow down the player, but never got it to work properly and hence didn't make it to the final release :(

And thanks for the number checking, amateur mistake made because of stress.

Overall, thanks a lot taking the time to give us some honest feedback, very helpful as it was both of ours first game.

Fun game! Interesting gameplay and good difficulty! Managed to get to wave 5 on my first try, and wave 17 on the second try. The side-effects of the towers make the gameplay tricky but fun, nicely integrated jam theme into the game :) Would be cool if some of the side-effects were also positive ones, not just negative ones, but maybe that's just because I'm not that good at the game itself heh!

This game is great deal of fun! Neat story, fun but difficult puzzles in a good combination! Nicely executed. Too bad the side-effects seems to only be a part of the story, not the gameplay itself, I feel something could have been done there maybe. Overall, it's a fun game with cute and proper graphics :)

Not sure if it was just me (Firefox on Windows) but the cake had some graphical glitch where it for a frame or two moves back/forward. Doesn't really ruin the experience, and I feel like it's probably a Firefox issue rather than with the game.

It's a fun idea that would be interesting to see expanded upon. The game is maybe a bit too easy, could be more challenging as it was quite easy and fast to win.

Lovely art and fun gameplay :) The only thing missing is a nice little calming tune during the gameplay

That's cool, hope it wasn't too easy or difficult! :D Yeah, was a lot of fun to work together on it :)

Yeah, that's a good idea. We were thinking of putting the piggie sprite on the cornstore page so you can see it growing as you eat more donuts, and also include the "speed" which gets lower the fattier the piggie got, but then it was day 10 already :D

It seems like you've fallen pray to absolute URLs instead of using relative.

Too late to change, but for the future: Notice that all URLs in the HTML source starts with "/"? This means they'll be loaded from the root of the web server, but that's not where Itch stores them. Instead, the URLs should all start with "./" so they are loaded relative to the index.html. Seems that was the problem here.

Enjoyed myself through the entire thing, totally worth it. 2nd most trippy dinner I've ever had, great fun!

Same here, I see "You do not have access to this page"

Edit: Now it works :)

This is a really cool game, from the idea to the implementation of the game itself! Fun from the beginning and really nothing bad to say about it at all! Nicely done, fun and nice looking :) Love the sound design too.

Woah, super cool idea! Love the design and the gameplay! Can imagine it'd be a successful puzzle game if you continue to expand on the idea!

Thanks a lot, we're glad you like it! :)

This is a really cool and surprisingly complete jam game :) Was fun to figure out the ideal ratio of remaining health and alarm, and try to sneak past guards or go all out attack! Nicely done

Not a bad idea, has potential! I didn't see any side-effects in the game itself though, seems to only be a part of the story leading up to the game. Gameplay is fine I think, however, the babies seem to be crawling on a floor with soap on it as they slide around :D

Thank you! Yeah, if you get too fat, it's hard to make any sort of progress. I think once you cross the ~70% threshold of fattyness, it makes it really hard to earn enough corn to even buy apples. In the end, feels like a acceptable "game over" scenario if you consistently chose the donuts over the apples :)

The idea seems solid, and graphics are interesting. But it's very hard to understand what the effects are, would be nice to be able to see in real-time what the different effects are when the potions get consumed.
