I'm in awe of the care and creativity put into this. Really fascinating, and I'm always interested to see cool solo games being made.

good tip, thinking I'll use that moving forward as well

thanks for checking it out! sorry for the mix-up with the file.

Just realized also that the second page of the pamphlet was missing from the download. I still think your critique is valid, but if you only had the front side of the document, this might provide a bit more explanation as to how to deal with the demon.

Thanks for the heads up! Now hopefully the download is the full document.

It was intended that it can't be defeated, only appeased in some way - finding the hidden alley is the main way to do that. But your point is well taken, we kind of rushed to get this wrapped up. I intend to do an updated version that better defines the goal/end game here.

This game is cool as hell. I wanted to know if you have any thoughts on solo play... looks like the GMless rules would make that pretty doable, right?

Thank you for this - first because I'm fascinated by your process - Hill Marks piqued my interest even though I haven't had a chance to utilize it much yet. But also because it opened my eyes to some fascinating things of which I wasn't aware, like the Schuylkill notes (I'm originally from PA and very familiar with the area where this is apparently happening). I'm immediately reminded of the Toynbee tiles, which have sort of faded from public consciousness as they've disappeared from the streets.

dropped the King and the Serpent into a solo session of Rogueland yesterday and greatly enjoyed it.

TEL is very cool, but the oracle system on the last page is very helpful for solo Mothership in general.

Played through SYBCD now, very fun, the constant threat of the (spoiler alert? monster) provides a nice level of anxiety/paranoia to keep things tense. There's a lot of depth here that the Warden could flesh out (for example, the morality of what was occurring on the ship)

Just wanted to say that I started this module in my solo Mothership campaign - it works extremely well, narratively speaking, as a follow-up to Alfred Valley's Thousand Empty Light. As in, you "complete" TEL (such that you can complete it) and then, next thing you know, you're floating in space and getting pulled into the Blacklens.

This may be self-explanatory, but when playing solo, can I just make a squad of 4 soldiers anyway? Likewise, 2 people can each control 2 soldiers? (this is assuming 4 is the max squad size?)

Just because I like the minis, made an Eternal warcult from Conquest stuff - from left:

- Ghost Warrior

- High Priest

- Golem

- Skirmisher

Wait where are these cards from?

I have been dabbling in solo TTRPGs for a while but I've struggling to get really immersed in something. Though this document is simple and short, it's very helpful as a guidance system for organizing solo RPG play, especially if you've never really done it before.

I did see that but I wondered if there are other situations that could replenish points mid-session. I guess that’s the kind of thing that can be determined by whoever’s running it!

I think this a pretty cool diceless concept. Perhaps I missed it while reading through, but I was wondering about mid-game ways to replenish pools - do you only recover points when you finish a mission, etc.?

Sure - there are a few tabletop AI systems that work decently well, Rangers of Shadow Deep is one. The Lone Warriors supplement for Brutal Quest by Mammoth Miniatures is another. And Of Knights and Quests by Kazdok has another option for solo skirmish games. I'm happy to discuss optimal homebrew solo rules too.

cool! the Landsknecht Diceless RPG Jam brought me here, but it's cool to see another module for Diedream. I did one recently as well. Wonder if there are others...

just wanted to mention that I am very interested in a solo mode for Dead Gods. I've already been tinkering around with playing it solo using skirmish AI rules from other places

This looks amazing. The content is great and the art obviously is astounding. If you don't mind, I'll send you a few typos/grammar things to fix up.

The art here is absolutely killer. Thank you for making this.

Any interest in collaboration of some sort?

good call, I’ve been meaning to pick up some Frostgrave stuff, now’s the time! I’ll look at Perry too. GW’s stuff is cost prohibitive, especially since Brets are making their return right now…

Do you have any suggested or preferred miniatures? I feel like GW Brets are an obvious choice, but I unfortunately don't have any...

thank you!

this is fun!

are you on discord/can we chat about doing a little revision of the base game?

awesome! thank you! I'll show/send you anything I create

I had a little question about Attributes - how do you assign your character's attribute values, and where do they come in to play?

I think so, yes!

Would love to have the template, at least for the card borders... feel like there's a lot of potential for expansion!

maybe too on the nose, but "a long december." something that always hits me in the feelings

This reminds me of the "owl cave" symbol in Twin Peaks, which I was just reading about last week... I was curious about what other films/shows/books incorporate line symbols like it. So this came along at the perfect time to further spark my curiosity.

very deep.

Thanks for continuing to play the game! Unfortunately the Steam version of the game has this issue because of Steam cloud saves. It's affected by whether you're connected to the Steam server when you're playing/saving, I think. We looked into it but I'm not sure we found the solution for it on our end.
