Post photos of your Warcults here so we can all bask in their unholy glory.

Developer(+1)

Not my own, but considering getting this Warhammer Underworlds set for an Eternal Warcult. Champion (leader), knight, skirmisher, peasant X2.

(1 edit) (+1)

Mocked up a warcult using Heroforge (so I can order and paint the mini's later) :)
I was intending them to be of The Eternal faction, but I think they ended up being more Pale Druid or Black Maw.
Any way: 3 x Wytches, one with winged arms, one ragged with fur and claws, and one slithering on tentacles, (I'm hoping their Horrifying ability stacks so they can try and lock down their prey. They are joined by (of all things) a Skirmisher as a Leader, just for a very mobile buff to activation.

Developer

They are very cool and definitely Black Maw, considering the tentacles.

All those Horrifying do stack, so your opponent is in for a tonne of fun!

Developer

Saying that, I've not run a 3 Wytch Warcult so let me know if it's OP. My thoughts are you're generally spreading out anyway to get relics but Wych-locking is a pretty cool tactic.

Heh, Not sure when they will hit the table, but like all great minis games, it's just as fun to just carry it around in your head and think up fun builds and lists. :)

Those look amazing. Terrifying, but amazing.

@Trollish Delver:I did notice one thing about the Wytch. In the pdf she costs 7pts with B4, but in the SRD she costs 6pts with B3. Which Wytch is which? Also, any plans to release the point calculation formula?

Developer

Good spot. It should be 7pts with B4.

Reveal the secret alchemy? Perhaps one day it shall be known.

I saw this model on Etsy, and ended up writing out a new Warcult.

The Clockwork Cabal: Religious zealots are not the only ones that desire the power promised by the Relics falling to Earth. Arl Bester, a clock maker and inventor, quickly seized upon the Relics as a potential power source for his creations. As time has passed, Bester is now more metal than meat. His Golems march the streets of his hometown of Bechnal, keeping order by any brutal means necessary, while Cabal members toil away in laboratory and workshop, grafting metal parts onto human flesh, and vice-versa.

CLOCKWORK GOLEMS, YESS!!!

I think these paper miniatures are cool: https://macchina-luctus.itch.io/pds-paper-miniatures

Developer

Love those. I'm a sucker for a plague doctor. Speaking of paper minis - watch this space...

Ow, nice! I didn't play it yet, but I'm already in love with your game.

Developer

Dead Gods is in love with you

Developer

The Godsworn Hunt makes a good Order of Stars Warcult. High Priest (leader), Bowmaster, Champion, Assassin, Skirmisher and Beast (coming in Unholy Scavengers).

(1 edit)

Ludloff and his trusty retinue of Hunters, ready to cleanse the lands of sinners and secure relics for the High Shepherd!

Developer

Oh cool! I'm also using Hexbane's Hunters in my Warcult.

Developer

Pulled together a Warcult for The Eternal. Knight (leader), Ghost Warrior, Peasant, Relic Hunter and Assassin. Now to put an opposing force together.

Developer

When I was writing Dead Gods I had these little packs from Warhammer Underworlds in mind, since they're fairly inexpensive (buy one and have a complete Warcult).

Skaeth's Wild Hunt could be a good one for The Pale Druids. Knight, Musician, Beast, Runner,  Bowmaster.

Another good source are Frostgrave, Perry miniatures, Wargames Atlantic or Mantic. By far cheaper than Games Workshop (but I agree, their Underworlds and Warcry minis are wonderful), and ideal for kitbashing, like this guy.

Developer

I'm a huge fan of the Frostgrave boxes. Really inexpensive for a load of great minis.

Yes! I think the Warcry/Underworlds models are a great fit for your setting. Gonna try it out soon.

I'm always here ferda boyz, so the Order of the Stars made me think of a weird'n

Developer

Gotta love weird nobz!!

Developer

All the new Cities of Sigmar stuff works so well. Although it's making me think there needs to be a mercenary faction...

(1 edit)

Arg! You tempt me to give Games Cutthroat more money...

Dat look guud!

Mercenarys sounds like a very good idea! Something apart from all this crazy cult lunatics!

My Witchhunters are roughly oriented in this direction.

Developer(+1)

Just seen someone has posted their necromantic The Eternal Warcult

(1 edit) (+1)

My and my wife's warcult

Developer

sweet! The Hexbane's Hunters are really popular for Warcults. What are the bottom ones?

Sister of Sigmar from Monstrous Encounters

Another video from Little Robot on their own Warcult with some groovy backstory

(+2)

My newest Warbands. The Brotherhood of the Black Maw.

Developer(+1)

Conjured Crafts has an awesome video on creating a war cult

Developer(+1)

Another great video, this time about creating some cool paper minis for Dead Gods

(+3)

Wait where are these cards from?

(+1)

I know this isn't just a Warcult but here is one of each of the Order of the Stars. I made my peasant a banner guy and the Wytchs of my lands offer body parts in order to gain magik. Hope you guys like 'em.

Developer

Hot stuff!

Developer

Lovely warcult courtesy of GW.

Pistol Priest, Beast, Knight, Relic Hunter, Skirmisher and Wytch.

Just because I like the minis, made an Eternal warcult from Conquest stuff - from left:

- Ghost Warrior

- High Priest

- Golem

- Skirmisher
