Congrats on completing your game jam! It's an interesting concept and the animation and control is very well done, I'm sure if you had more time you would redo the UI elements and maybe added more levels etc, but its a great foundation to build something more ontop of!

Have you played inscryption yet? In that game you can make a card when you 'die' which is a combination of some of the cards in your deck randomly chosen, for each of the variables (health, rune, cost) and then that card gets put into the game for the next playthrough, you may or may not get a chance to pick it up, but the idea is you want to pick up super powerful cards knowing the next time you die there's a chance you can use that card to make your death card and then get the chance to pick up earlier in the game giving you a nice high value card for your deck if the rng falls in your favor.
I ran into the same bug as Xuraith, which is a shame because I was 1 level away from the boss fight. If there are 6 cards to choose from after the battle the button to skip/select gets moved off screen and there's no way to continue. I really enjoyed the game, its hard without getting good cards at first but when the rng favors you its fun to battle on.
ok edit. I figured out the yellow numbers mean its in the wrong spot but is one of the combination numbers. What I think might be helpful is if the number is used twice then have it be another color other than yellow. Then at least you have a fighting chance of winning, otherwise the game feels like you got cheated because the very first 2 rounds are always going to be 1234 5678 unless you get lucky on those 2 rows you only get 1, maybe 2 if you're really lucky, guess at the last combo. Otherwise the game is solid and I enjoyed it.
Hi, the game works great. I like the strategy element, its not apparent at first play but you have to keep an eye on the color of the border changing as the bad color bubbles you let go by before the color changed will hit the top and cause point loss.
I think that if you wanted to keep the game idea going and add more to it in terms of content. Break the gameplay up into rounds, perhaps a bonus round for reaching X points, and finally some type of timeout after the color changes so that bubbles a few pixels away from the edge before the color changes don't take away hearts.
The controls are pretty fun, to give it more content you could make the map cylindrical where your moving around a planet at the equator, that sort of gives you an automatic story and more content options like protect satellites and astronauts, guide ship to dock safely, drag items to base, to build some super weapon power ups, etc.
This is a great starting point for a really interesting game, the sword throw and retrieval is very unique and opens up many possibilities for unique puzzles and gameplay ideas. The room transitions were a little too slow and could use some more polish but otherwise this is a great little demo that could be something really fun.
