Also fixed the controllers so you can only press left or right but not both. This reflects the NES controller and will add a bit of balancing when the other team tries to mess with the other teams controller. They will have to knock the player off the D-Pad before they can reverse or mess with the controls of the other team.
I had a blast with this demo! I only encountered 2 bugs that jumped out to me.
1. I got attacked by a hedgehog and a bear. I was able to kill the bear, but the hedgehog took on invincibility. This was in the area of the dodge prompt.
2. In the spider boss fight, I jumped behind the spider and she ran into the left wall and just stayed there. I was able to just stand behind her and take my time killing her.
I look forward to seeing this game get a full release. :)
Thanks for playing! I was severely limited on time (actual dev time was probably only 10 hours) and I'm not really good with pixel art so I spent most of the time messing with art. I was going to add some enemies, but decided to go more with a walking sim...a slow painful walking sim. The biggest lie in gaming.
The sadness is just what the game wants you to feel! haha hence the slow gameplay. I was going to make him faster, but I though the slowness adds to the feeling of helplessness. Good thing you can still beat it in about 30 seconds if you just don't listen to the game. :) Thanks for playing! I will play your game here shortly.
Super interesting concept and catchy song if you play it correctly! Level 3 is super challenging compared to the other two. It would be interesting if you could do something like this, but make the rhythm go with the movement as well. Like if the move and jump buttons play notes and go along with the song. :) And maybe a few levels of introduction until you add in disappearing platforms! haha :p
