No words, bro! The concept was too good, the gameplay is engaging, and the execution is just right. It doesn’t need anything over the top. The game was so polished that I had to play the game  again just to find any error, but I still didn’t find anything lacking in game design . However, I have only one criticism, and that’s in spell picking. When we pick a spell and  take it out of the window, then  there’s no way to get it back, and because of this, I lost 3-4 spells. But I know that’s a minor mistake, so no changes in score—5/5.

and guys why the fu*k this game have only 9 vote so far .... give him more

its not a bug .. its a feature XD

thanks for the kind words .
btw i chack your game also . and daam you realy made it in HTML only ?
like i means was it a challange or
no one told you about that game engine exist ?

Damn, bro, you got this. I can feel the frustration and happiness at the same time in your comment XD. My goal was to create a challenging platformer for speedrunners, so I intentionally kept some bugs and issues to make it more "challenging." However, it turns out that these elements became frustrating, especially with the replaying of the calm puzzle parts.

I see potential in this game for players like you and me who enjoy speedruns and challenges, so I'll definitely update it after the jam. I plan to add more levels and improve the platforming.

Fun fact: During playtesting, the timer for the 4th level was so hard to match that even my friend, who also worked on the game, couldn’t complete it.  but Since I completed it, so we knew it wasn’t impossible, so we kept the timer at 30 seconds. so You’re the first person (after me) to complete the 4th level. You got this, man. Congrats!

Actually, they are connected (in level 4), but because of the jump problems and wall frustrations, a lot of people didn’t make it there. I’ll definitely update the game with more interconnected levels, improved player controls, and more unique puzzles.
thanks for the reply

can you rate my game also plz coz it need only 2 more votes to get qualify by 20 vote

all the best .

I’ll drop the review on your page.

Thanks for the review. I apologize for the wall issue—that happened due to the physics met of wall. I’ve already fixed it and am just waiting for the jam to end so I can release the patch.

The glitch with flying using movable blocks is new to me. I’ve played the game many times and tested the rigid body of blocks, but I haven’t encountered this issue before. If you could provide a screenshot of the glitch, it would be really helpful for me to resolve it.

I dont know about honesty  but our game is quite challenging. Let me know if you manage to complete it!

Hey, I was really looking forward to finding a game where the storm is the boss and you have to wait, then fight, then wait again. I finally found that in your game—it was an enjoyable experience with perfect music for the theme. The choice system was very tricky yet reasonable.

The art could have been better, but I understand that you probably had a tough time making the game.

By the way, I scored 53 points!

I spoke with the mod named "Just Old Now," and they said you're fully allowed to update the itch.io page whenever you want. However, if you want to make changes to the game files, you need to get permission from one of the admins or mods first.

I also asked about what changes are allowed. There was a glitch in the first level related to the portal and instructions, and he mentioned that if a bug or problem is breaking the game experience—like in my case, where players don't have instructions on where to go and what to do—you can make those changes. Small tweaks to your existing code are also allowed, as long as you’re not creating something entirely new.

For your case, since you only want to change a couple of lines of code, you might get permission for that. Just ask in the help section of their Discord server: Discord Help Section.

Best of luck with your stream game also!

Thanks for this detailed feedback! I honestly didn’t think too much about the difficulty while developing the game, but after submission, I received plenty of complaints about how the jumping and repeating the calm world became frustrating for players. So, I’m really considering adding checkpoints and increasing the jump force a bit. However, I’m not sure if the mods will allow me to do that since I’ve already updated the game once (for a patch fix). What do you think? This is my first Brackeys Game Jam, so I’m not too familiar with the rules. If it's allowed, I’d definitely make those changes.

By the way, thanks for the technical feedback—it was really informative and will definitely help me polish the game. I’m also planning to expand the game, add more levels, and eventually release it on mobile devices.

Thanks again for your valuable time. I hope your game makes it to the top 5—it was absolutely crazy Sh*t!

Hey, I also liked the idea of asking the player, "Do you want to make it easier?" This would help players skip a level if they’re stuck and still experience the later levels, rather than quitting out of frustration.

I really liked your review of this game. It would be my pleasure if you could also rate mine! It’s a puzzle platformer as well.

The art and atmosphere were perfect, and the controls felt smooth. The sound effects were also really impressive. I noticed you added a bit of story, which I really appreciated. I haven’t finished the game yet, but I’m definitely planning to come back to it later because the narration style is pretty good.

Overall, the game was really solid—there’s nothing that felt lacking. However,

The only problem is the frustration—frustration when the torch didn’t move quickly, frustration when you have to see the same cutscene again and again, and frustration with the minimal light source.

I can't put platforming in frustration, because for me, difficulty was never frustrating. But by seeing all the replies, I feel like it is a source of frustration for others.

I wouldn’t call the platforming is frustrating, since difficulty doesn’t bother me, but from some of the feedback I’ve seen, it seems others found it frustrating.

All in all, it’s a really good game, especially considering it’s your first jam. If you can address those frustrations, your game will be even stronger!

If you have time, feel free to check out my game as well—it’s a puzzle platformer with mouse controls. I’d love to hear your feedback!

2D Challenging Puzzle Platformer

https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-12/rate/2965456

I tried your game as well! So you made that Nier Automata mini game in GDevelop? It was quite nostalgic for me, both because I used to be a GDevelop user and also because Nier Automata is one of my all-time favorite games.

By the way, could you add the controls in the description? I wasn’t sure how to switch—right now, I’m just using the UI to switch between things.

heres mine .. its a hard and challanging puzzle platformer

Thank you for the genuine feedback. I’ve received quite a few complaints about the jump physics and the world save points, especially how players have to redo all the "calm world" sections repeatedly.

The idea was actually intentional. I thought it would be cool not to include save points, so players would need to go through the calm parts again before entering the portal, and then, with the timer, they’d rush into "storm mode." This was meant to reflect the "calm before the storm" concept.

However, I feel I may have failed with the difficulty. I set it subjectively based on my own experience, thinking it would be challenging with  those jumps and save points. But I realize now that instead of being challenging, it just made the game frustrating for players.

I'll definitely make these small changes after getting permission from the Discord mods.

Good luck with your game, and thank you for your valuable time!

cozy and challanging platformer

Hey Paper_mint,

I was going to try your game, but I saw that you're having some issues with HTML. You might want to reach out to the Discord mods—they’re usually pretty quick and should be able to help you out. Good luck!

Also, I’ve patched my game after getting permission from the Discord devs, so now all the basic instructions and objectives are in place. Give it another shot—I’m sure you’ll change your mind!

Thanks, Shinbudukai!

I tried your game too, and it was really cool and cute! It’s short and simple, but it definitely tested my patience XD.
Also, the soundtrack really stood out—it’s so good! It would be great if you could drop a link to it in the description.

By the way, I’ve fixed my game, so you should give it another shot—you might change your mind! And yeah, this time you can’t skip the red button, haha (evil laugh 😈).

Hey Zmadness,

Thanks for all your help throughout the process!

I just tried out your game, and it was a fun experience. The art style was really unique, the music was groovy, and the starting voice line was scary XD. I didn’t find any bugs while playing, but I felt there was a missing objective. I think it would help if you at least mentioned that in the description. Anyway, very nice game!

By the way, I fixed my game, so you can give it another shot—you might change your mind!

Thanks, hyqk! I really appreciate that.

By the way, I also tried your game, and it was kinda fun! Strategy games have never really been my type, but I still loved the concept and the way it was executed. I don't have much to say because the game was a bit hard for me 😅, but as a fellow game dev, I can definitely say it was very, very polished.

By the way, I fixed my game, so you can give it another shot—you might change your mind!

thanks max for compliment . i just chack out your game also .. and it was a solid fun !
the representation of storm was crazy XD
and the fact that in india we called work as a (kam) and in your game we do work (kam) before the Storm
just made me chuckle

btw i fix the game so you can give it one more shot .. you might change your view

Hi everyone, this is Zeno. I apologize to those who faced issues with the early build. I couldn't do much earlier because I was concerned about the possibility of disqualification.

A big thank you to the Discord mods for helping me and guiding me through the "post-submission process." I also want to thank everyone who reported the bugs and errors they encountered. I know I'm a bit late due to the local time here, but I did my best to fix everything.

Now, here’s the patch fix. I hope you'll have fun with this updated version!

visual sell out the show for me ... dam those rings looking to fascinating for me. also music was really really impressive considering that you made the music. but i feel game could have been more immersive . like i didn't usually play rhythm  games so i cant tell that the bpm was correct or not .. or any technical things . but all i can say is that there was a missing " Curve " like slowly progress and then end satisfaction ..
also the game ends pretty weirdly like it just music turn off ,nothing special

i hope you will talk to mod's on discord and improve this .. or just take all you learn from this project and implant in your next project ... hope you best of luck ...you have some really cool skils in Art and Music

also you can check out my game also ... its also Art based  game like yours . but its a puzzle platformer  ... you should definitely try it
https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-12/rate/2965456
