I got 8 children to play basketball through 3am until a chupacabra shwacked them all. 10/10

what a nice walk

I’ve got bad news for you chief :x

This is pretty brutal, Nathan.

Thanks!  I'm still searching for that extra "something" in the art direction, but I'm happy with what I have to far.

My big brain idea is balancing the fun and engaging parts of these games with the more contemporary sim features that make for emergent scenarios so that it feels more like a building a community than a daycare.  It's ambitious, but if I only managed to land on virtual pet daycare maybe I think it'll still be a fun experience

Peaceful game, fun to have on in the background.  Nothing different to add that any one else hasn't already said, good job :)

thanks, I rated yours today!

rated your game!

Pretty clever idea! I had thought a bit about tower defense as a mash up, but not in this way!

Balancing between the levels would make this feel better and extend a play session (I got about 5 minutes before I was soft exited by the rising costs of purchases).  Maybe a way to be able to reduce the cost of items , I'm not sure, but either way , fun game

I fed my boy and he got big.

Turning with the grid movement was a bit weird like some others said (strafing would've been nice!), the environment and the sounds were really good, and the interactive method felt novel compared to a lot of games in this genre.

Here's our submission, I'll go through and rate the ones in this list tomorrow when I wake up!

Best game maker drag n' drop game I've every played.

Lucas and Nicholas wrote amazing words and music for this, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I liked the art of the character and egg, I was missing some music!

Great art and music!

Pretty music and cool sfx.  Peter alluded to this, but controls labeled in intro section and highlights for interactables would be useful for the player.

Really cool depth perspective, so simple but really adds a lot to the world, felt like walking through a 1950s painting.

The music is really soothing!

Super weird (in a good way), def reminds me of the Creatures series, but also Colonochi has notes of a Black Mirror / Knights of Sidonia episode in its aesthetic. Would be into seeing this developed more.

Wow, cute otter sounds and hand drawn sprites

Thank you for the playthrough and the comments, also the protip about the .exe

Weird, I was able to download it no problem.  Can you clear your browser cache and try again?

weird lemme re-up, thanks!

$56!

This is a pretty fun build for ~2 hours of work!

What led to the decision of having the deck building be random?

Totally understandable, I got similar information from watching other people play and have been adjusting accordingly

Thanks for giving it a try though!

Really cool concept, the aha moment is *chefs kiss* and the stage feels set for a game with more tricks up its sleeve.  A refreshingly innovative recycle on a legendary classic.

This is really cool, I want more of and polished buggo.

Pretty fun, I didn't mind auto shooting because there's so much to focus on.

The twirling bean shaped gun ammo is satifsying to watch bounce around, and the flight of the bumblebee call out in the song is *chef's kiss*.

Gotchi games always have a special place in my heart.  I love the sound design and overall design of this game, would love to see it fleshed out a little more.

:c I'm so sorry

I haven't done any music yet, but I have a vague idea of what it will be comprised of.

In the best of situations it'll be influenced by the kinds of flora and fauna that are hangin' around the garden, and maybe modulated by the growth stage of the love tree. I don't know if that makes sense to anyone else, but it does to me! hahah

I think it'll be neat.

Some character sketches. I'm also starting to put together a palette.

Solid idea.

Took time to revamp Lettuce's look (Before, Transition, After)

Thanks, Pug :)

Trying to flesh out my and ideas for NPC creatures to come wandering into your garden and different plants as well. Catnip for the kitties!

Here are some prelim pixels for Lettuce Grow The Love Tree that I drew today: Cow, Hay, NPC, Hanging Tulip, Cat, Cactus Flower. I'll clean them up later, but I like how they turned out for a first pass.
