TYSM for playing! I am glad you enjoyed our interpretation of the source material

(1 edit)

Glad you liked the box! It was our little homage to Metal Gear Solid. If you fancy jumping back into the game, there is a room to the left after you enter the main hall. There is a big monster in there and the box may come in handy!

He didn't arrive in this instance  Source if you're interested

This was a really challenging puzzler well done on getting it done in 3 hours.

I had a lot of fun bouncing around the track. Well done on completing your first jam. Keep up the good work. I look forward to seeing your future Trijam submissions.

Great work for your first game. The day/night mechanic you have is quite interesting. I felt having it tied to a button was a little inconvenient.  As a suggestion instead of the button use the position of the mouse cursor could to reveal the hidden elements.

Interesting choice to personify Night/Day.  Really liked the sprites and the gameplay is really fun.

My only complaint is the speed of the characters, otherwise this was a fun experience I thought the levels were well designed and there was a good use of the theme. Congrats

Interesting use of the theme. It was an enjoyable game, certainly one I would play when I want to chill out. Well done

I'm glad you enjoyed the experience, and that it piqued your interest to look up the source. Reading or watching the original play on YouTube would certainly be a recommendation from us.

Very fun game, certainly got me in that one more turn mood. I found it to be a bit difficult at first, the alien always seemed to spawn too close to me to make any progress but after a few turns it sorted it self out.

Solid gameplay along with some humorous dialog.

Love the animation when swapping between Day/Night it has a very satisfying snap to it. This was a very fun way of capturing a very real problem for most people these days. Congrats

Excellent execution on the theme and there is a nice challenging gameplay loop that keeps me coming back for me. Well done

Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed waiting :)

I'm glad you enjoyed the game. Thank you for the tip on movement, I had taken a break from Godot for awhile so coming back I'm a little rusty

Great work on getting your first game out. It's a great achievement. This was a good horror experience. I love the lighting effect before heading to the basement, it really adds to the unsettling feeling of wandering the derelict house. My only minor gripe would be that you have to go to the door before being able to interact with the laptop. I think it would be good to have the ability to interact with it at first and if the player doesn't they can still be blocked until they do.

First off really enjoyed this game but when I first started I was unable to move forward, left, or right. The only direct I could move in was backwards. I had to pause and un pause to get full movement enabled. I've been noticing this with a few unity games lately

Quite an interesting concept you have. I don't have a numpad on my keyboard and the number rows didn't work. I managed to get it working with some of the keyboard keys. Took awhile to get used to it but when I did it was very enjoyable. My only recommendation at the moment would be configurable controls.

The Devil You're Dealt is a short horror/comedy game loosely based on the Irish folk tale of the hell fire club. You play as Saoirse who has entered the club in an attempt to find her parents who never returned home from their night shift. You will need to sneak past demons, battle with satanic cultists and challenge the devil himself to a card game to save them.

This game was originally meant for the folk horror jam of 2020 but life got in the way and we didn't have time to make it for the jam but wanted the project to see the light of day.  Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to play. We would appreciate any feedback good or bad. I hope you enjoy the experience we have created.  https://cursedroots.itch.io/devil-youre-dealt

I am left thoroughly unsettled after this. Congrats TheDollarGameStore. This is an excellent game, love the aesthetics and love the building of dread on each night. For anyone reading this stop now and play this game!
