Great idea, great artstyle, solid sounds. Love it!

Cute game, very nice work!

Wow, what kind words my man, thank you so much, we are glad you had fun playing :)

Thank you man! Thats what we tried to achieve :)

thank you for the kind words my dude <3

Wow, thank you so much. Your kind words make us very proud!

Very well made game. The tradeoff in using simple 3D models to put more time into the actual mechanic was a great choice. Gets a little hard on the eyes in later levels.

Looks cute, idea is simple but movement and levels need some work in my opinion

Cool idea, but needs some work. Would be cool to be able to drop the grabbed pieces to get other ones, for example.

This has a LOT of potential. First of all the UI is SO cool. The mechanics are complicated at first. The AI is pretty easy to read and beat once you got the hang of it.

Cool concept, plays neatly, is decently difficult.

Thanks so much dude! :)

Welcome to the devlog of Dom and Kait!

We plan to make a post every day describing our progress working on our game. Hope you enjoy reading!

Day 0: Friday12 am CEST

So when the topic pride was first announced, Kait and me were pretty clueless on what to do. Before, we had some sort of idea what we want to do and we will have even more ideas when they announce the topic. But nah xD. Well, it took us a while, but the brainstorm eventually got rolling. We were interpreting the topic pride differently, not the obvious gay pride, but rather "brave" pride. The basic idea for our game then turned out to be a platformer, taking place in the protagonists brain, where he has to fight his insecurity and anxiety throughout his whole life.

The levels would be different stages of the players age in different fitting situations. in every situation, the protagonist would be anxious about making some sort of move, but by beating a level, finding the bravery tokens and defeating the evil boss "anxiety" at the end, the player would achieve maximum bravery to make the move.

Basic idea all set, went on to think about essentials, such as environment design, sounds, player movement, level design and so on. Shoutouts to Kait for her great ideas! I am really thrilled about what artwork she will come up with. This is a way harder task then what im doing i think.

Day 2: Sunday 12 am CEST

Some basics have been done, setting up the project within Unity and linking it with the Unity Team feature, so Kait can work directly in the same Project. Im looking to do some basic movement scripting for the player, as well as maybe a camera script for sidescrolling. Using some placeholder images for graphics, i can try and build some platforming sections before Kait finished the assets.

Overcoming the time zone difference Germany/East coast US is quite a task. We are positive to get something finished, even if its just a level. My plan is to have it at least 3 levels and some nice boss fight at the end. What really thrilled me was Kait saying she would work more on this with me after the jam is finished. Im really looking forward to making this as cool as possible! Thanks for doing this with me Kait!

Hello everyone!

My name is Dom, im 23 years old, from Germany,  and im looking to particpate in my very first game jam!

I just finished my apprenticeship as a software developer, unfortunately not video game related at the moment. My dream is to found my very own game studio at some day in the future. Im looking to participate in different events like this one, to learn a lot and gain experience.

Through lots of tutorials, i learned some Unity, as well as ClickTeam Fusion. Im looking to use one of those for my project. I was afraid of joining game jams before, because i didnt think that i would be good enough to make a game from scratch in a short time frame like that. This is me doing the Shia and "just doing it" :D

I should be fine with coding, but when it comes to designing characters or drawing things in general, im absolutely talent free ^^ will give it my best shot though :)

Im really looking forward to show you my finished product and also trying out everyone elses games!

Have fun everyone!

Dom/Summer

Edit: Im also open for teaming, if someone is interested :)
