I saw this on the live stream. What a fun little game you made :)

Thanks for your comment. :)

Yeah, I'll take a look at the timer mechanic when the Game Jam is over. :)

I was actually surprised by the pressure. I really didn't start working on the game until the very end, yet the pressure lasted for 10 days because I really wanted to submit the game to my first Game Jam.  But hey! There's always a first time and my Game Jam virginity is finally over. Onward and upward!

Hey!

Thanks for the comment. :)

Yeah that issue with the time.timeScale has now been fixed. I was actually aware of it when I uploaded it, but I just forgot to fix it. Haha :)
Adding extra time was also something I thought about and that might come later on. Time wasn't on my side, so I just had to get it done. Im going to add that when the winner of the game jam has been announced. Thanks for the advice!  :)

I've made two fixes to the game:
1 - WEBGL wasn't working because of the compression - doh!
2 - If the player pressed Try again, the Time.timeScale didn't change back to 1. That has now been fixed.

There we go. The browser version should be working now. :)

Hey FlashEddieRocks,
Yeah I noticed. I guess I messed something up. I'll try to find a solution when I get back from work. The downloadable version is working though. :)

Thanks buddy 😀

Thank you for your feedback, Crossfire271.  :)

Thanks for the feedback. I'll look into changing that :)

Hello guys,

I would love to get some feedback to my little casual game. It's called Roll on and it can be played here:

The objective is to survive for as long as possible and defuse the bombs before you blow up.

Please give it a try and leave a comment. :)

Hello everyone!

OL Games Studio is proud to announced that it has released it's first title - hopefully the first of many. :)

This game is all about beating the high score and surviving for as long as possible. I've had several people try it out with lots of positive feedback, so I hope the rest of you will enjoy it as well.

Gameplay
You're a sphere who is running out of time. There are bombs spawning and your objective is to disarm them before the time runs out. For each bomb you gain 4 seconds. You also have to be careful not being hit by the other spheres who are trying to hit you.

Controls
W/A/S/D

The game can be downloaded here: Roll On

Hello all,

Computers and computer games have always been a strong passion of mine, ever since 1988 when I got my first Commodore 64.
I remember playing a "game" where you could click a button and suddenly mountains would appear - always in random sizes, which fascinated my 7-8 year old brain. How can something appear at random with just the click of a button? I think that was when the interest for programming/game development started. I also tried my skills with the Shoot 'Em up Construction Kit. Unfortunately life doesn't always go as planned and I didn't learn anything about programming or game development until around 32 years later. Oh well, better late then never I guess.

As my first ever "real" project, I decided to create a simple game with primitive objects. The goal here is to pick up(disarm) as many bombs as possible before you get killed. The clock countdown starts at four seconds and each disarm adds 4 seconds to the clock, with a maximum of 15 seconds on the clock.

At the current state of the game, the only objective is to survive for as long as possible. But I plan on changing the game a bit, so instead of focusing on the high score, the player will focus on how many bombs to diffuse to open up the next level.

There are some weird issues with the pause menu, which made me disable it for now. I need to figure out what on earth I did wrong there.

Things that are going to be added in upcoming releases:

  • Pause Menu
  • Objectives
  • New levels
  • New challenges
  • Sound effects
  • Other things?

I would really appreciate some feedback, suggestions or tips on how to improve my first game :)
