Well, my game wasn’t also the best one. But I try not to bother with rankings. I’m happy because this year I got over myself, I made it better. So, avoiding any sort of discussions, here’s my suggestion: focus on getting over you, not on being the best ever. Keep trying, keep creating. And, most importantly: have fun.

Once you do all this, you’ll feel fine around game jams :)

Best regards everyone, and congrats to the winners!

This game’s puzzling! It’s good to see that on this kind of games :)

And I liked the polishment of the rooms, looks like some sort of training rooms!

Thanks for your feedback! Did you manage to reach the end?

Great game! Graphics are cute, music fits well. Haven’t won yet, but I’ll keep playing for a while! And btw, I love monkeys :)

Nice gameplay, it’s so… bouncy? Yeah, I think that’s the word. Unfortunately, there was no sound :/

Interesting combination of graphics and music! The “apple a day” cliché seems to be a popular theme for many games, but each interpretation comes out to be fresh and innovative, like this one!

Nice story! Also, the overall style of the game is quite relaxing to me!

Hi cavetowerstudios, just coming back to see if the “typewriters” part was this:

If so, don’t worry, I’ll put a checkpoint flag near that place!

Could I know what’s the “narrow passage” you can’t pass through? Just to consider a checkpoint flag close to that point ;)

Actually, not yet :(

But I won’t give up, I’ll kep playing on my free time ;)

Nice platformer! I found this game is a bit hard. However, the recommendations from the game page saved my life many times! Gameplay was cool and challenging, too!

That “typewriters” part should be this one:

Well… I hope so!

Well, thanks for your feedback. It seems like checkpoints are a common suggestion, so I think it will be my first task to do after the jam.

Gonna see if I can complete your platformer :P

Oh, great! Good to see you won!

About the following issue:

’ “Q” to QUIT GAME appears to have noticeable DELAY in execution; ’

If you used the in-browser edition, it seems to be an issue with Pyxel (the game engine). I’ll be waiting for a fix, you may see it at some point.

Thanks for playing and rating!

This game is interactive, fun, and somehow puzzling! Oh, and the platform availability is just great, thanks!

Great idea and gameplay, that was really innovative! Is it just me, or is Pac-man a cliché by itself?

Thanks for playing and rating!

Talking about the “typewriters”, I think you meant this:

In that case, indeed, it’s probably one of the hardest points in the course (not the hardest, but one of the hardest). Maybe a “checkpoint/flag” would be great there, and that’s totally fair, so I’ll add one after the jam (so stay tuned!) :)

Nice visual style, during the whole game. Gameplay was nice, too. That “Cycle of Life” thing was funny :)

Nice graphics! Another top point is the theme interpretation, that was great!

Thanks for your feedback!

I made this game for being… a hard game, actually. I’d say it’s a lot about precission, if that’s helpful to you.

I’ll take your recommendations in count after the jam ends, starting with a “save progress” flag or something similar. Thanks for playing, too!

Quoting from the FAQ:

“Please don’t change the game on the itch.io page until after the voting period ends. If there’s a bug that seriously affects/prevents playability that’s a “quick fix”, please feel free to address it. Just leave a note on the itch.io page saying what you changed and why. Since the code is not being judged, you can update the GitHub repository any time.”

So, if your update fixes an important issue, or is a “quick fix”, then go ahead! Just remember to add a note on your game page ;)

Nice gameplay (it’s puzzling!), but I think the graphics are a bit jarring, indeed :)

Oh, I’ve noticed you added a downloadable build for Windows. Is it possible to also add builds for Mac OS, Linux or Android?

Great theme interpretation, for me it was the best point to mention here. Nice innovation, too!

Nice submission! Everything was really polished, I personally loved the graphics.

Maybe you could provide downloadables (I mean, a downloadable build) in addition to the web version, so we can also play offline. But thanks anyway, and congrats!

Hi! Thanks for the feedback!

Maybe as a clarification, to jump higher or hold in the air, you have to press the space button repeatedly. But I will take your comments in count for further changes to the game!

Sounds like a great suggestion, will work on it after the jam! Thank you!

Top points for audio and theme interpretation (that was quite creative!). Great packaging, it was so easy to me to get and run your game. Another great idea was to keep a “high score” track, that was nice!

The only fault I’d propose is a bug with “recognizing apples”. Sometimes it picks up a “yet unpicked” apple, and sometimes doesn’t recognize the apple.

And that’s it.

Thanks for publishing this! And btw, I hope y’all feel better soon!

Well done! You have the highest score ever! That’s the technique I used. Thanks for posting, too.

Also, would you like to share your scores here? https://itch.io/jam/game-off-2021/topic/1833717/challenge-try-my-game-then-tell-me-your-points

Thanks! My intention was to take back the retro style :)

Good game. The theme was interpreted well. I found a few “glitches” or “bugs” during the game, I mean, sometimes I hit but dolls don’t fix.

I didn’t passed level 3, honestly. It was funny, anyway.

Got it. I rated your game.

Would you like to share your scores here?

Good game! I suffered a little, because I don’t have Linux at my home, so I had to ask a friend to borrow me one. It’s good to take back the Linux machines!

And about the game… I liked the graphics, and the theme interpretation. Well done!

Also, would you like to leave a rate? :)

Yeah, the jumping control. I didn’t use the shield, but maybe it would help me a lot!

In almost all the levels, it took just one attempt, excluding the level before the boss (I wasted 4 attempts because of the bugs that were waiting for me).

It took something like 15 minutes, because I decided to move slowly to avoid those bugs!

Thanks for playing and commenting!

It was a good game. At the first time I got confused with the graphics, but then I liked it!
