Thanks! We might try fixing some of the issues after the jam.

Your problems have been noted, maybe we'll fix them post jam. We really feel we did good in this jam, even though some aspects feel unpolished. Thanks for the feedback, means a lot!

We've gotten a bunch of comments telling us our tutorial is unclear due to difficult to hear voice lines, which is fully understandable. Therefore, here is a little mini-tutorial to hopefully make the controlls and systems clearer.

Control:

WASD to Move

Right Click to turn droid

Left click to use Claws

Guns:

Some guns require a condition to be met before fiering:

Shotgun requieres an enemy to be to its right to fire (Fires after a short delay).

Machine gun starts charging up bullets when an enemy is behind it, fiering a barage of bullets after the charge(More bulets the longer the charge).

Systems:

In the modification menu, click on a weapon-icon to select it, then click again on a space around the droid to use it in your next run.

Hope this makes the game mecanics understandable!

Ps: Some of the brain tanks in the levels are movable, try finding them all!

Nice take on the theme! A bit infuriating at times due to having to start in the long levels, but nothing to bad. Good entry my g:)

Well executed idea. The game is also surprisingly addictive. Good Job!

Fun game and interesting concept. This genre needs a twist like this, and the idea deffinetly has potential beyond a three day jam. Music is a little intense for the vibe of the game, and some sound effects whould do nicely. Great submission!

Incredible visuals and gameplay, as well as personality and charm. Swell work, good sir!

Fun take on the theme, its not often you see a metroidvania beeing submitted to a game jam. I found myself dying because by changing my functions more often than the enemies or lava however. One fix could be to have the player only take damage when entering the functions menu, not when moving things around. Overall, good submission!

In addition to the fun gameplay, I just want to complement the sounds here, nice work:)

Great game! Loved all the little deatails, like the cat having 9 lives. Took me a little time to understand how to upgrade my toaster though, and I quickly felt overwhelmed because of it. My second run was fire though, good job!

Thanks for the feedback! To emphasize the AI portion of the game we made some weapons have certain requirements to fire. Shotgun triggers when there is an enemy to the right and fires after a short delay. Machinegun starts charging when there is an enemy behind it, and launshes a barage of bullets based on how long it was charged. We didn't have the time needed to make this visually clear in game, apologies for that!

Yeah, sorry about that. When recording and modifying the voicelines ,we listened to them whitout music or sfx. It was possible to tell what was said, in contrast to what often occurs in game. Because the sound system was one of the last things we managed to do, we didn't have time to fix the issue. :/  Thanks for the feedback though!

I really enjoyed making the levels for the game, and I am happy with the result. We would have liked having more levels teaching the player the mechanics, but, you know, time constraints.

I adore this concept! Not only was it fun, it was also original and  fit the theme well. As for things I can criticise is the lack of levels and animation, altho I understand your lack of time. I whould also like some sort of indication on what the enemy is going to do so that I can play around it.

Read trough your game page, and i really enjoy your concept! I didn't understand the controlls though, so I didn't get the full experience. The jump was a little floaty as well. Art and music  are great!

There is a currently a problem with level six, the one with the fireballs and stuff. You can, if you're not an epic gamer, relaunch the game and go to level 7 via the level select screen.
