The Tranisfex projects are probably the easiest way to get involved.

The Windows copy ships with a 32-bit version. I haven't set up the manifest here on itch for it to launch properly through the client, so your best bet would be to grab the installer EXE. It should have the option to install the 32-bit version.

For Linux, unless you're on a 32-bit distro that has Flare packaged, you'll need to build it yourself. Instructions for doing so are here: https://github.com/flareteam/flare-engine/blob/master/INSTALL.engine.md

In the Interface tab of the Configuration menu, there's an option labeled Low Health Notification. Change it to one of the options that doesn't include sound.

You could try forcing the game into using software rendering. First, find the configuration file based on your platform:

Windows: %APPDATA%\flare\config\settings.txt
Linux: ~/.config/flare/settings.txt

  1. Change the renderer=sdl_hardware line to renderer=sdl
  2. Change the hwsurface=1 line to hwsurface=0

My recommendation is to try using some of the scrolls that Florin sells in Perdition Harbor. Specifically, the Summon Zombie and Reflection scrolls. They can really help turn the tide in a tough battle.

You're about half way through the game. You'll come back to that altar later in the story. For now, the way forward is the door to the south of the altar. You can unlock it with the key you picked up.

Very much so. I just posted our second release candidate for version 1.13 (release candidates don't get uploaded to itch.io). The full release of 1.13 should happen around the end of the month.

We don't have a Discord. Our community forums and IRC channel are listed at the bottom of the Get Involved page on our website.

The project as a whole doesn't accept donations, but there are some individuals in and around the project that you can contribute to. I've updated the FAQ page with a list of them: https://flarerpg.org/faq/#donations

Your version shouldn't hinder your ability to move forward in this case.

In Lochport Cemetery, the way forward is located in the south part of the map. If you come across some gravestones that are spawning zombies, you'll be on the right track.

That's unfortunate. It sounds like you ran into this bug, which has no solution at the moment: https://github.com/flareteam/flare-game/issues/816

I've been recently working with someone making a Flare mod that uses Windows, and I have been providing them with development builds of the engine. If you're willing to, you can try copying the flare.exe from this to your install directory: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1DRLlo7nWfnIHNs7JBqKWrfwNPmDgMKYb/view?usp=shari...

Either way, could you provide a bit more information for me? It would be helpful to know:

  • Your Windows version (e.g. Windows 10 64-bit)
  • Your CPU & GPU
  • If you use an alternative input method for another language

Exiled Kingdoms uses its own engine as far as I know. But as you noticed, many of the art assets are the same.
