This was so cool! Reminds me a bit of ULTRAKILL. The grapple mechanic was satisfying to use. If the sword combos I would play the heck out of this just the prototype lol. Really good prototype, and the tutorial was really helpful as well! Only comment I got here is that the camera clips a bit if I hug the walls. Otherwise great work here!

Nice art! This looks pretty good. Good tutorial as well placed at the start. Personally, I like when games do that as it makes it easy for me to get playing! Only comment is least on my browser, Firefox, when I press the attack too much my game will lock up. Other than that I await your game in the production phase of the jam!

I like the cute aesthetic that this has going here! This def a good prototype as I got the vibe and energy here. My only comment is the mouse control when clicking the game not in full screen mode. I get a drop down from browser that Dotbigbang.com requests for control. It feels kind of weird as I feels like an unknown third party is asking (though after some research looks like this game is powered by it). Maybe a disclaimer during like the pregame splash screens have something like powered by or somewhere in credits. I am usually paranoid about about any party asking for browser permissions, but just wanted to bring up just encase. Anyways, great prototype and can’t wait to see what y’all show for the production phase!

This a fun little prototype so far. What I enjoyed is that you can zoom out quite a bit, and it starts looking kind of like an eye spy in a way. Also animation of the little crane thing while being zoomed out is satisfying in a way I cannot completely explain. Overall, pretty cool for a prototype and I await to checkout see how this looks after the production phase!

Prototype Release Notes

General

  • Linux build is the most stable and currently recommended for the moment
  • Windows Build was not working on my machine, but it was able to work on a friend’s in the past. Currently trying to create a testing environment for Windows on my dev machine! Future updates will have a Windows version & potentially MacOS.

Main Stage

  • Not playable at the moment. Player can control the player around, but auto firing has not been built yet or varied enemy waves
  • Ships built with an editor will not appear automatically after saving. Game must be restarted to get ship to be seen in main stage

Editor Barebone

  • Bug found where player can place blocks below the platform, doing so will cause collision issues with mainstage platform

If anyone manages to get to play this any suggestions, feature ideas would be nice!

Interesting concept! Personally, I have not really played anything like this before so it def sounds unique. Nice work on the timeline considerations, this will def help with prioritizing your core gameplay. Can’t wait to play the MVP this up and coming weekend!

Very nice and concise GDD here. Easy to follow along, clear premise and good plan overall! Personally I would recommend a buffer time towards the end of your production phase to avoid crunch potentially, otherwise great work! Can’t wait to try out drivin that boat. Best of luck!

I love the working title!

The theme and setting def sounds creative, and the idea of battling on desktops is unique as well! I think this idea def has the potential to be pretty fun. Reading the GDD does sound like it might have the potential to have a bit of crunch towards the end, so def keep watching your time and add a buffer if needed!

Otherwise sounds like a great game and I hope to see what y’all got for the prototyping phase! Best of luck y’all!

Howdy! Is the theme of GOLDEN up to interpretation or is there a palette coming soon?
