This one's one of my thematic favorites. Instantly feel the homage paid to the prime games, and I am personally a fan of the brutal combat (seriously, the timings on the bugs is near instant and I play twitch shooters). Though, I know people probably won't like that. 3D is a plus, multiple purpose rooms is a huge plus (and one of the most important parts of a Metroidvania), and I liked the primary weapon sound so much I found myself just shooting at walls while walking around. The ending sequence is cute, and I feel like overall this is one of the purest experiences in the jam. Great job!
This is some gourmet shit right here I'm not gonna lie to you. Yeah there's bugs everyone else has said that (if you want a list of what I found I can provide) but what really stands out to me is the theming on everything. I love the art direction! This game has character, it's got soul. That's not easy to do. Even down to simple things like smoke break signs being save points and the tutorial modal having a gear on it, the whole environment just feels great. I can get behind a game that might be bumpy at times if it's themed like this. I also appreciate having a stripped down movement demo that I could play to get used to things. +1 for that.
I like this one a lot. Especially that it pays some very on the nose homage to both halves of the genre.
There's some jank with the double jump (it seems to happen if you double jump repeatedly).
One of the rooms that you can access shortly after the double jump if you go directly upwards repeatedly will crash the game.
I really enjoy the combat and art direction!
Great game!
I think this game is pretty charming. However, given that it is completely linear, it is not much of a metroidvania. Although, given that the current level seems to be a tutorial area, that might be intended. There is a lot of jank surrounding enemy hitboxes and collisions on the level. Overall though, I like it.
