Great game! I like the Metroid & Castlevania fusion with both space & fantasy. The music & level variety is very nice.
Here were some issues I encountered:
Hope this helps!
Hi Dan! Thank you so much for playing! As you can probably tell the game was not able to be fully finished by the submission deadline, but we have already made significant strides in completing it which has addressed a number of the items you outlined. However, some of your feedback is pointing out new opportunities and I will absolutely be incorporating it into the forthcoming update! I hope that you will consider giving the fixed version a go! Happy Holidays
Hey Check it out, only got to play for a few minutes because I had to go to work! Will come back and give it a proper test run 3/5 on first impression!
Check out Chick-Magnet and give it a rate/comment if you have the time!
(The WebGL is more up-to-date but wasn't included as a Jam submission) Thanks, GameDev&Design
Cool story and nice art design! Definitely has some bugs right now, but those can always be cleared out with time and patience. Definitely have a progress/skip button for the dialogue so the player can control the speed of the intro. This way impatient people can blast through and more patient people don't have to worry about reading too slow. Really like the sci-fi/medieval mash-up, great idea!
Thank you so much for playing! The intro was slapped into place right during the deadline and I apologize for the poor pacing! It will be cleaned up for sure
No need for apologies, game jams are like crash-testing half-built cars :) If we keep doing what we did great and keep adjusting what needs improvement, we'll all make great games one day. I'll look forward to your next entry!
Vibes are spectacular, art is great, but there are many little anti-QoL things that bring the experience down : /
This includes the bugs, but also the attack stopping you, the camera lagging behind you, and the floaty/way too fast character controls.
The intro section is also annoying - the text is too fast the first time through, and lingers for way too long afterwards. Later on, that's just me being stupid, but it took me a while to figure out I should attack the door on the floor to progress.
The layout of the levels has no direction, though that makes it feel quite interesting in a sense of being lost (positively). I'd say to make the layouts and individual rooms more memorable, and/or give a map, at least a simple square grid one.
I gave up when I got to the castle area, after the double jump, and fell out of the level's bounds. A quick restart button would've been nice here
6/10, excluding the bugs 8/10. Looking forward to a full release!
Edit: Forgot to mention, music is also really nice, and enemies look interesting but are hard to attack with just 3 whip directions. Then again, I never played the original castlevanias. That's probably me being bad at playing :p
Thank you so much for playing and for your feedback! We got squashed by the deadline on this version, however we have already fixed many of the issues and made numerous improvements! We are excited to post an update soon. Happy holidays
Very cool idea! There were definitely a few bugs - some I noticed were that controls sometimes stop working when you go through a door, and the double jump doesn't seem to always work (likely because you are adding a force but forgetting to set the velocity to zero before doing so). Finally, the game crashed when I went through a door, something called objRoomba broke it. The graphics are great, and the concept of a reverse metroidvania is cool!
Ahhh sorry. These issues have now been fixed but didn't make it into the jam submission! Thank you so much for playing and for your feedback.
The jet boots have a cooldown which is supposed to be visually communicated to the player by a bar, but as you can likely tell, the HUD/GUI was unfinished. We are looking forward to posting a much cleaner updated in the near future!
Please make the intro text go faster. :D
Also putting attack on shift is a problematic choice. Because of the Sticky Keys on Windows:
That dialog popped up every other minute during my play session.
I like the fusion of the both genre defining games and the visual and audio representation. The movement was a bit janky though.
OOF yes, I had to disable stickykeys myself to play it, sorry about that. we plan to add gamepad compatibility and i'd maybe like to set attack on mouseclick or something. Thank you so much for playing
I like this one a lot. Especially that it pays some very on the nose homage to both halves of the genre.
There's some jank with the double jump (it seems to happen if you double jump repeatedly).
One of the rooms that you can access shortly after the double jump if you go directly upwards repeatedly will crash the game.
I really enjoy the combat and art direction!
Great game!
Thank you so much for playing!! We will be releasing a bugfixed update ASAP!! There were many things that we ran out of time to implement but which will make the gameplay a much smoother and more functional experience.
This is a link to a zip of our game. We worked really hard! Hope you enjoy

Are you going to add a web build or platform builds to play? I don't see anything to download or play on your page or in this submission yet.
Yes! We are submitting late; what's currently here is a placeholder until the playable build is uploaded.
I posted a drive link to a zip of the game. I was grinding up to the final minute and I don't know if I can get it submitted on the page
Thanks for the follow up. If you ping Nova on the Discord he might still let you submit. Or if you aren't on there let me know and I will ask for you.
Thank you so much, we were able to get it uploaded! The version that made it in does have a lot of bugs, but we will post a cleaner update in the near future for anyone who is interested to try!
