Objects like crates blocking the guards' sight is one of the things I'd like to add when I revisit and expand on this. You should have been safe for sure!

This is really great. Like others have said the balance could do with tweaking to make it a bit more challenging (I got through the whole thing without losing once, which for someone as bad at cards as me seems like it shouldn't happen) but the gameplay is solid. And you've captured the mood so nicely with the combination of art and sound and writing. Nicely done.
This is really cute! I love the personality in the characters, and the idea of each room being its own scenario and minigame is really cool. I could see this being fleshed out into a full game for sure.
I agree with the other comment about the instructions and flavor text - these could be used more effectively with a bit of rearranging so that the hints/instructions are more concise and defined. But overall this is really sound. I hope you develop it further.
Thanks! You're absolutely right about the lack of instruction, others have pointed it out too. Future versions will definitely have more clear tutorial stuff in them.
I like the idea of expanding this, and multiple smaller rooms is definitely something I'm thinking about. I love the idea of seducing the guards! That'd be a really fun way to add more depth into the game :D
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly! I had already commented out those lines from Message Core like it said in the help file, but unfortunately that didn't make a difference - even with message core turned off it still does the same thing. Any other plugins that might be causing the same interference?
I'm using MV, with Eli Book 5.3.1 and Eli BitmapFontPro 5.2.1, for the record
