Hey there! Sorry for the late reply, I missed your message, my apologies!

With regard to the project itself, we were working on it after the jam. However, a few people have had to stop working on the project, and we have struggled to find artists to help create the levels and character models, so the project has been on hold in that regard until we can find someone. Apart from that, I am slowly working on systems and tools in the background as we fleshed out what we wanted the game to look like. But until we can find the aforementioned people, the project will basically be on hold. :(

Thank you! Yes, we are hard at work on the full release! :D

Thanks a lot!

Right now it's just doors, but we are working on interacting with items and certain other objects in the submarine.

Oh I see, You must have downloaded the initial submission, we made some minor changes after the fact and the most recent version is on the game's page itself, so "K-279.exe" should be the most recent version.

I've never used the Itch client so I wasn't aware of it working like that, thanks for the info. 👍

I apologize if I'm misunderstanding, but there is only 1 version of the game. "1-bit version" would imply multiple versions of the game, so I am unsure what you mean by this.

I am unable to reproduce [ESC] not closing the game. Do you have any conflicting keymapping that might be causing problems?

Shoot is bound to [Space] not [E]. [E] is bound to interact.

Hey there! Yeah, we managed to build out the atmosphere but couldn't get around to finalizing what the gameplay would look like. 1 week really snuck up on us haha. We are planning to finish it off though!

Also, can you clarify what you mean by the E and ESC key not working in the 1-bit version?

Thanks so much!

That's a really cool way of going about it.  Yeah, you're really forced to think outside the box when put under heavy restrictions.

Wow thank you for the kind words! Yeah, the 1 week was too short! Definitely gonna finish it. Also, your game looks incredible wow! Maritime atmospheric horror best horror haha.

May I ask how you accomplished the dithering effect? I spent a good few days trying to get the one in our game looking good but didn't have enough time to iron out some flicking/aliasing issues.

Thank you!

Thank you! Yeah unfortunately we were unable to finish what we wanted, so right now you can only walk around and shoot. We're planning on finishing the project and putting in all the things we originally planned. 1 week sure flew by haha!

Thank you!

Hey everyone!

I'm a developer focused mainly on Unity 2D/3D stuff. I'm looking to make a horror game using the 1-bit constraint.

Although I am a Unity dev, I am open to other Engines/Languages as well. I was thinking of going for a 3D game but that can of course change :)

Hey there, programmer working mainly in Unity with a little experience in Godot. Sent a request on discord.

Thanks for the kind words! The objective is to delete the virus from the computer but everytime you try to it will come back and you'll have to try and find and delete it again. Understandably, we could have done a better job of teaching the player the mechanics and objectives which we did have on the original plan but unfortunately we didn't have enough time to implement.

Hey there, first of all that's not supposed to be happening but I guess it fits the theme of the game haha!

Unfortunately that seems to be a fatal bug I've had a couple other people point out as well. I am trying to fix it but I am having trouble recreating the problem on my machine. From what I can understand, I won't be able to upload a fixed exe until after the submission period is over.

This game looks great and the car actually doesn't feel too bad to control. I love the retrowave aesthetic as well. One question, how did you make the track? Is it procedurally generated?

One thing I'll say is that the bumps on the road with how jerky they were gave me very slight motion sickness but it wasn't too bad just very slight.

Sorry about that bug! I'll see if I can't get that fixed real quick.

Also yeah it does end kinda abruptly we kinda ran out of time towards the end so had to make a quick ending haha! There are 5 levels total (1 level for each virus you have to delete).

Glad you liked it though, thanks!

WOW! The game looks like it came straight out of a children's book. The mechanics are simple but a lot of fun I started playing and then suddenly found myself trying over and over again to beat my high score (only managed to get 41 haha). I adore the art style and music here. Great job!

No worries! I didn't take it like that! 😊

Thanks for the feedback, will definitely check it out!

Thanks, this was our first game + game jam so there is definitely a lot we learned from this.

Windows Build was producing errors (couldn't parse asset files, etc). In its current state, it is very buggy but functions enough to get a general idea of the game. I will be constantly updating the build with bug fixes in the coming days.
