I've got 2 1920x1080 monitors, one vertical, one horizontal, I had all the windows on the horizontal one.

I wasn't able to bring up the main window at all once I started the game. So that's probably a bug.

This is without question the best of the past-present puzzle games in this jam. The level design and the presentation are both great. The only thing missing is a way to restart a level if you get softlocked. At least I couldn't find it.

Gameplay itself is fairly basic, but the presentation with the art, music and story elevates it. It's impressive what a capable team can do in just 3 days.

The core gameplay is fantastic, the UX could use some work. For one, I don't know if its because you need to click specifically on a unit or a tile, but the game felt unresponsive at times and I had to try clicking a few times before it did what I wanted. Also, having some display of the HP % for each unit without having to hover over them would be a huge quality of life improvement.

There's definitely some fun to be found there and the platforming mechanics in particular are solid, but the visual and sound effect of time travel should probably be more subtle when the level design requires you to use it every few seconds. The level design itself could also use some consideration - currently it feels less like travelling through time, and more like swapping between two different dimensions as there isn't much feeling of continuity - for instance, if the castle is long abandoned, why the platforms destroyed in the past are repaired in the present?

A reset level button would be good to have, as if you start experimenting, you can get easily softlocked in the first room with the pushable dressers, by pushing the first one against the door.

Personally I prefer it when my games have gameplay in them, but looking at it as a slightly interactive story this was good.

A bit on the easy side when it comes to puzzle design, but still enjoyable and well-polished. I like how the final room is pretty much a trap.

I'm definitely considering it, though I'm not sure when I'll find the time with the number of other projects I started and don't want to abandon.

Can't deny that the combat isn't very welcoming. If I made this into a proper game you definitely wouldn't be thrown into the deep end like this, but I was ambitious and as a result I ran out of time to include any kind of proper tutorial.

Yeah, I had to a choice to make the combat simple, but probably lacking in depth and get everything ready on time, or try to come up with something unique at the risk of running out of time for everything else.  I made a choice, and I doubt I'll do well in the game jam itself because of it, but I might revisit the mechanics in the future.

Thanks for playing. I explained the combat on the game's page, since I ended up not having the time to make a proper tutorial. It's a bit unfortunate that the way itch.io is set up you can download the game without ever seeing it.

Nice game, though the character physics did get  a little annoying at times, particularly the fact that your jump height was reduced by the drag of walking into a wall or a box.

I really liked the design of the segment where you use one box to press down two different buttons depending on the time you're in.

I made a video about my game:

I decided to go all out and made a video:

It's my first video on youtube, so I definitely still have a lot to learn, but I think that it's good enough for a first time.

While my game wasn't originally designed as a multiplayer game, it can work as a 2-player co-op, with one player controlling the platform and the other one - the character: https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2019/rate/462343

It's a really clever idea, but level design could use some improvement.

I worked on it alone, though I used music made by a friend of mine

I had a problem with character's jumping animation - it was set to trigger the moment he hits the platform. But it turned out to be too late, as the same collision also triggered his next jump. I didn't want to just add delay to the bounce (because I wasn't even sure how I'd go about doing it - I didn't learn about platform collider in Unity until it was far too late to change it, so the platform had a collider function as a trigger - if I just added some delay to the bounce, player's character would fall straight through).

Solution? Change the animation from character getting squished by the impact to character getting taller and thinner, basically stretching him out vertically. It triggers at the same time and looks perfectly normal.
