Nice design of the world and enemies, pretty clean execution and an interesting mechanic. Pretty great game. :-)

Pretty cool looking and great sounds. Powerups seem a little confusing on what they do and sometimes me smashing the shoot key caused it to stop working so I started running into enemies and hearing the sound and seeing the sprites change was fun. :-) good job

Yes we should have maybe pushed for one more theme. :-/ Thanks for the feedback!!

Best game. Unfortunately I'm not good enough to  go past level 8-9 (at least on the 20 minutes I gave it) just like I wouldn't be able to win a real Retro game cause those were challenging. The theme is perfectly brought up since you got a real reference (Robotron 2084) which personally I didn't know before but seems to be an arcade masterpiece. Every element is visually clear. Gameplay is tough but not unfair, good AI but hated when the girls hide behind the unkillable guys. Overall loved it. Good work.

The world hardest game-like type of game, but this one I could finish. Fun was had. Great work!! :-)

Thanks a lot for the nice comment!! It was intended to do a retro-like gameplay both simple and challenging which could be seen as the most obvious interpretation of the theme, but luckily we came up with the changing graphics part that added the missing spice to round up the concept. Very glad to know you liked it!! :-)

Thanks a lot for playing!! We had some other things planned to add like a 3D level or upgrades, but we decided to focus on implementing all sounds and balancing as best as we could. The music is my fault since it's my first time actually making a song using beepbox or really any music producing software so it was the best I could get in a couple hours, that's also why the music has lower volume than the SFX. 15k points it's a lot!! feels good to know you liked it enough to spend that amount of time on it. PD: One Boot Ahead is amazing :-)

The game has an interesting atmosphere. There certainly is a lot of work behind the visuals and concept. I also appreciate the procedural generation element, it was for sure not easy to do. On the other hand, I wasn't able to win the game or even go trough more than 2 rooms since the enemies shoot too fast and you have to tank some shots in order to kill someone.  You could try lowering projectile velocity of the enemies or their shoot speed for the player to be able to dodge them or make it a more stealth-like game.  Next time try to focus primarily on gameplay and playability and on looks after. But for two high schoolers this is actually very impressive!! there for sure is a lot of potential here. Keep up challenging yourselves!! you're on the right path.

Well, the game is pretty unfinished so my ratings will obviously not be good, but I like the sprite choices and the retro-style gameplay, keep working on the game and learning Godot. Submitting is already an amazing step in the right direction so keep it up!! would love to play the more complete version when you're done.

House of Pomber is perhaps the best game i've ever played. It's so deep and well designed, the Art and music are gorgeous!!
