The art styles are really cool.

Oh look, a better implemented version of the graphic switching idea I tried haha.

Good job on the game, easy to get into, and great wordplay on the title.

One note, (and maybe you thought of this but had no time like me) it would be cool if the sounds also switched with the graphics. Better sounds to go with better graphics.

Thanks!

Thanks man, We appreciated your coment. Talking about the note, yes jajaaj, we had a lot of ideas that we wanted to implement, like the sounds changing through generations or N64, but the time catch us short.

great theming and the gameplay loop is enjoyable, but i found only 3 themes to be quite short and causes very few replay value (i got to SNES first try) also something nitpicky is that in the SNES theme you would expect the graphics to be more pixelated (but maybe that's just me). I did enjoy playing and ended with a highscore of 2600 :)

Yes we should have maybe pushed for one more theme. :-/ Thanks for the feedback!!

I scored 1250, good job.

You nailed the theme, this things looks and feels like something right out of the very earliest of gaming era's.

Probably my favorite interpretation of the theme so far, and very well executed as well! The gameplay is obviously quite simple, but I imagine that's intentional (both to allow the concept to shine through and probably to make it easier to make all the assets as well!) and isn't really a downside at all. Overall, not much more I can say about this. It's just really freaking cool!

Thanks a lot for the nice comment!! It was intended to do a retro-like gameplay both simple and challenging which could be seen as the most obvious interpretation of the theme, but luckily we came up with the changing graphics part that added the missing spice to round up the concept. Very glad to know you liked it!! :-)

Hey!

I loved your take of the theme, a nostalgic-like game that goes "through the ages" when it comes to styles! I was kind of sad when it ended as I was excited to see what would come next; but also to find out what the next enemy type was!

The controls were very simple and responsive. The lenient hitboxes on bullets/enemies were perfect. The SFX matched the functions. The soundtrack got a little bit repetitive/tedious, but I guess I maybe wasn't supposed to keep playing up to 15k+ points haha. I wonder what else you could've done with the gameplay to keep things exciting as you go!

Thank you for your submission!

Thanks a lot for playing!! We had some other things planned to add like a 3D level or upgrades, but we decided to focus on implementing all sounds and balancing as best as we could. The music is my fault since it's my first time actually making a song using beepbox or really any music producing software so it was the best I could get in a couple hours, that's also why the music has lower volume than the SFX. 15k points it's a lot!! feels good to know you liked it enough to spend that amount of time on it. PD: One Boot Ahead is amazing :-)
