Look into something called Locksport. That’s basically the IRL speedrunners for all sorts of locks, including safe cracking. I bet they would absolutely shred a game like this.

Is there not a reset button if you get stuck?

Not bad. Level 3 took a bit to make sense.

Key bind choice was a bit odd…

cute game, surprisingly challenging.

cute game, surprisingly challenging.

Camera needs a lot of work. Very frustrating to play.

Nice, simple, and fun

Not a bad game, but it wasn’t made for this game jam.

Harder than I expected… stranger than I expected. Definite Frog Fraction vibes. Liked it.

Missing controls, couldn’t get red to jump at all.

Simple mechanics, easy to play. I like it.

Surprisingly good game. Pause button doesn’t work.

Funny enough, we used Godot, and for whatever reason, the HTML5 build was the easy part. The Windows build would do weird things sometimes, and at one point, on one of our computers, it just wouldn’t open anymore, not even the older builds.

We already are working on some updates for post-jam release.

yea, unfortunately, due to inefficiencies in the net-code (fixed now in an unreleased version), if you have a slightly unstable connection, it will cause all sorts of problems. We also are working on setting up servers in more locations, but if you have a weak wifi signal, or try to play over 4g, it just simply doesn’t work right now.

Multiplayer was the first focus, but we already have a few weapons ready to add after the jam is over.

Thanks! We had fun making it.

Yea, getting a bunch of people playing at once is tricky. Just getting the name out there will be the main goal at some point.

Indeed they are placeholders. We have graphics ready to go, along with both stability updates, and improved netcode, so as soon as we are allowed to, we will have a post-jam update ready to go!

Thanks for the comments.

Just an Input Field in Godot.

There’s actually a server-side switch for that. The hardcore server has that disable, if you wanna try it.

yea… the servers can be a bit weird. We have a fix in the works, but can’t release it till after the jam. As for the empty servers… we have some events and ideas planned, but nothing more till after the voting period.

The game servers are sensitive to lag, due to how it was constructed. We’re already working on a patch, but cant release it till after the jam voting.

Not bad! Unfortunately, if you know the /yogscast, there isn’t much to the game… but with a bit of work, and some other NPCs, this could actually be a fun detective game.

Currently hosting a mini-contest for the next 2 hours over at https://itch.io/jam/yogscast-game-jam-2020/rate/844186 Rules are simple. The people with the top wins, win. So what’s the catch? You must play in the Hardcore server, and there must be at least 10 people connected when you kill the werewolf. Winners will be mentioned in the discord tomorrow. Note that there are no prizes, but winners might be considered for future things. Emphases on the might.

Thanks! The lobby engine is custom built using Nodejs and some HTTP calls, and all the multiplayer is just Godot MultiplayerAPI.

The magic multiplier was always ment to be a bit of a trade off. More power is good, but too much and it bites back. We’re still thinking on how to better ballance that.

Definitely more coming after the jam. Keep an eye out here in the near future.

Right?!

Sorry about that. We’re still working on getting new servers up, so you might try again tomorrow? We’ll see what we can do.

Cute. Bonus points for a linux port, but the controls are bugged. Won’t stop trying to go to the left.

Game crashed hard… also somehow listed as Linux compatible? Might wanna remove that.

like the concept, couldn’t get too far into it since I don’t have other players. Could see myself playing it as a party game for sure.

oooh… pico8… interesting. A fine game for the platform, worthy of a rating. Thought I have to agree with several other comments and dock for the extended unskipable dialog.

not bad. Got hectic at the end, but managed to end with 91.

level 4(?) is surprisingly hard. But a great take on the surprise theme.

Interesting, though the itch page kept breaking when I pressed space. I’ll add a proper review when I play the downloaded version

Fun little mini-games. Nice wario ware feel.

Is very confusing… not sure the goal. Not bad for sure, just hard to follow.

Short but sweet. a few puzzles were surprisingly difficult.

Decent platformer, with only a few bugs. Was interesting having both platforming and shooting, though the targeting was a bit wonky. Leaned waaayyy too far into foul language and bad bathroom jokes. Could be much better if those were reigned in just a bit.

We got 2 servers up now, and will be on for a few hours still, so if anyone wants to help try and break the server, come on over! https://itch.io/jam/yogscast-game-jam-2020/rate/844186 If you like what you see, ratings are appreciated.
