Glad you liked it! The accuracy tier is based on how close your final time is to 20 seconds and the number at the bottom is your time. The UI probably could have benefitted from a couple more words there...

I also realize we were pushing the constraint a bit, but figured it'd be okay since the game is still built around doing something in 20 seconds ;)

Thanks for playing! This game doesn't have a title screen specifically to make replaying faster and easier. That said, it shouldn't lock you into fullscreen! The fullscreen button is a feature of itch.io (from the Frame options) and you should be able to get out of it by pressing Esc on your keyboard.

A fun take on minesweeper! There's some nice risk/reward here with the constant choice between blowing up more bombs and collecting treasures

Managed to get 2nd on the leaderboard! It seems like just going for ships is the way to go for me. The battle scene at the end is really cool, but I wish it was skippable for the sake of getting back into the game faster. Great work overall!

Neat game! My highscore was 24

Nicely done! There's a really solid foundation for a fighting game here. If you're still polishing it, then there are a ton of opportunities to add some juice. Particles, little hitstun flashes, maybe freezing the game for a couple frames when an attack connects, etc. Great work so far!

Nice game! Simple and clean. I managed to save 6099609006 lives :D

Neat concept to combine WASD and the arrow keys, but the current UI layout of the WASD controls is VERY confusing.

Neat! Took me a couple tries to figure out what I could interact with. Maybe you could add an outline when hovering over an important object? Otherwise great work!

Nice game! Admittedly, I needed to cheat to win too. I'd say there are just a few too many things to keep track of here. I might be less compelled to cheat if it was all on one screen, or there were fewer equations. Maybe the solution is different difficulty modes? Something to think about

This is so well done!! After a few tries I managed to snag 3rd on the leaderboards!

Also, I've NEVER seen a jam game with an online replay system before, so huge props for that! Being able to marvel at the skill on display in the top run was awesome.

Neat game! The combination of colours and the satisfying beep makes it kinda mesmerizing. I gave each seed a shot on mouse and got 43/46/45/44

70 on easy, 40 on hard. Although I might have been cheating since I took my glasses off :D

Great game!

Interesting concept! I managed to win the top score by finding the keys for building guns and spamming them relentlessly. Also, bonus points for incorporating the jam's optional theme!

Finally, a typing game that is absolutely impossible if you can't touch type (like me lmao)! Great concept here. Well done!

Nice game! Once I realized I had a gun, I managed to win in around 6 seconds.

Neat concept, great job! I wonder how this would play with 100 times the number of nodes, since the timer isn't much of a factor right now. Also, I think it's eating some of my inputs.

What a great idea! My best score was 5.

I like the vibe here! I gave it a solid 10 minutes, but the knot spins around way too fast for me to win. Maybe you could add a sensitivity slider somewhere?

Nice job! I agree with Virtual Nomad that some sounds effects could go a long way here.

My mouse in the game is much more sensitive than usual and starts off-screen. Is that intentional? It does make the game more interesting, but it would be better if the mouse stopped at the edges of the screen so you can't lose it.

I enjoyed this a lot! I like not having enough time to win on the first try. One thing I'd do differently is be able to skip the intro cutscene after the first time, or otherwise shorten it. Great job overall!

Neat game! The procedural generation is super cool! I managed to win after around 10 tries. Two simple things I would change are adding a restart button and moving the camera a little higher above the balloon.

First try 😎

Neat little game. Great work!

After a couple minutes my best was 15.1 seconds! The varied lose sounds and quick replay time are great. I wish the fire was telegraphed even slightly, since it would feel less random. I also couldn't figure out how the invisible healthbar worked (sometimes I would die in a couple frames, other times I grazed like 20 fireballs).

Overall this is great fun, good job!

There isn't much game to review here, but I got a kick out of it. Good job!

This is neat good-ol' infinite runner! My highest score was 101.

To give you some feedback, in all my attempts I didn't even come close to using 20 seconds, since the obstacles took me out long before then. Instead of changing them, I wonder if you could add a bunch of easier obstacles, then put a hard one every set distance to bring the average playtime closer to 20 seconds.

Also, I always appreciate a volume setting, so thanks for that!

Great entry overall

There are certainly some bugs to iron out, but this was really cool to play! I'd never heard of Caves of Doom before, so it's neat learning about some gaming history like this. It took me 6 or 7 tries to win.

Congrats on finishing a game for the jam! I won, but not before blowing up like 20 times haha

Going off your other comments, there might be a couple ways to implement identifying the right wires that wouldn't take too much extra effort. Maybe an audio cue, or making the scissors shake a little bit. Something to think about!

Fun concept! I agree with the other commenters that the reload speed needs tweaking. I had juuuust enough time to win after a few tries, but the game faded out to the lose screen first. When I clicked try again, it said you saved the day!

Neat game! My highest score was 60!

Very cool! After a couple attempts I got a height of 7m and signal of 11km.

Very interesting game! I managed to get a score of 2150 with hospitals and a house.

It would be nice if there was an easier way to tell when you can afford a building, like having them greyed out when you can't afford them. I also found my self wanting a way to read the building descriptions outside the main game, since I wasted a lot of attempts just reading. Aside from that, the core idea here is a lot of fun!

Phenomenal! The gameplay is intuitive and addictive. The game is chaotic, but readable thanks to the simple graphics. I personally like the fast turning, as it feels like it gives more control in the endgame.

The audio is also great! It sounds like something you'd hear out of a modular synthesizer.

I'll definitely be coming back to this one!

Cool concept! Executed well and restarting is nice and smooth. My only gripe is the countdown feeling a little long. Having the leaderboard visible at all times was a good choice, as it makes grinding for that  10th place spot so much more tempting!

I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for the feedback about the circle sound effect. You get used to your own sounds rather quickly, so it can be hard to judge if they convey the right information. That one slipped past me!

Thanks for playing! Balancing for mouse-only controls is indeed tricky. The game is too easy on touchscreen and too hard on touchpad ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My highest score was 16!

I'm not sure if you consider this finished, but either way I would add the controls to the itch.io page. The game got a lot better for me when I realized I could move with WASD :)

Great job on making a fun game!

One thing I might add is the option to retry using the keyboard. I prefer to play using the arrow keys, so replaying involves taking my hand off the keyboard, clicking with the mouse, then going back to the keyboard. Letting the player retry with, for instance, 'Enter' or 'R' would make the experience more seamless.

Neat game! I have a couple suggestions:

  • I would put the controls in-game somewhere
  • I'm always hesitant to differentiate things by colour in games. There are various type of colourblindness and some people might have difficulty telling the notes apart. The two colours here are probably different enough, but I might still add some other difference (e.g., make one a circle and the other a star). Something to think about!

Overall, great job!
