Really neat lil entry!! Quite liked the premise and I like how the helium tanks and birds both draw you in different directions, I did manage to find a (possibly) unintentional exploit where mashing the dash button into a wall clips the balloon through it, I weirdly found it quite balanced since it seemed to use a lot of fuel. Had a fun time gettin that brain freeze!
Being able to push through clouds either by dashing or sheer determination is actually a totally intentional part of the game and it has indeed been balanced around it.
I like that the maze and helium drops are randomly generated per attempt, and the music was done well.
The dash mechanic was extremely useful for getting around in the 20 seconds - once I got an idea on size of the maze and that the helium wasn't tied to the dash, I started using it liberally.
I think a potential improvement would be to include a restart button - As general movement is tied to helium, a run can end prematurely when you run out and are stuck in a dead end. Being forced to wait out the timer is somewhat frustrating - in several attempts, I lost the coin toss and picked a dead-end with no helium left, and was forced to twiddle my thumbs.
I eventually got to the end and got my slushie though.
I beat it! Good fun in an old-school kind of way. The movement is nice and fast and the whole thing looks and sounds good. I had a hard time taking in the map while navigating around the maze and I'm not sure how much use it was to me but I liked having it there anyway! Good job team!
Nice! I managed to beat it, but only because I glitched through the clouds by boosting (;
I like the music and the hot air balloon moves in a way that I would expect a hot air balloon to move, as someone who has never been in a hot air balloon before.
I don't know if it's just a problem for me, but half of the map was off screen for me, so it wasn't much help.
Could you share a screenshot regarding the map being offscreen? Discord preferred but here is OK too if you’re not there.
Regarding the clouds… “that’s not a bug that’s a feature” ;). I probably shouldn’t give that away already because it was meant to be a secret mechanic and I wanted to see how many people discovered it. But maybe it’s OK because the game is actually more fun and much easier when you figure it out. It’s been somewhat balanced for it too as there’s a trade off in speed and vulnerability to birds
Ah ok, no bugs then it looks correct to me. I’ll take into account that the minimap might be too small for future updates. Nothing is getting cutoff that I can see, did you notice that the world wraps around the x axis? The stuff on the left is actually from the right side of the maze being drawn as “ghosts”. The maze generator will create connections between sides too so it can be useful to take advantage of
Thanks for sharing the screenshot and thanks for playing!
Neat game! The procedural generation is super cool! I managed to win after around 10 tries. Two simple things I would change are adding a restart button and moving the camera a little higher above the balloon.

A floaty, mad dash of a game.

Here is what it looks like for me. You can still see most of the map, but I feel like it should maybe be bigger. It looks the same in other browsers.
