I have 3 programmers working on this project and we've been moving pretty fast with knocking out all of the core elements of the game. I'm looking for a pixel artist that can match the art style I'm looking for. I want a grungy cyberpunk mixed with horror. I have quite a few concepts for characters and have sprited out a few rough areas. If you are interested in hearing more add me on discord: jamesmr3

Trying to finish building out my systems so I can finish the demo for my game.

I have a story draft for those interested. I've done a lot of work myself but it'd go faster with more people since I work a lot.

My discord is: jamesmr3

I'll go over the project in more detail there.

Add me on discord jamesmr3.

I need assistance with developing AI that's good enough for acting like another player. I have my own custom engine written in pure JavaScript along with example code to help. I'd like to keep this free, if possible, but I'd be willing to pay you to implement it. All I want right now is AI for the first game which is like Tron or slither.io.  You have to cut of the other player to score a point. It needs to avoid opponent trails, opponents, walls, and obstacles. It should try to cut off opponents, get power-ups, and if in the point collector mode collect the points. You can try the game out here: Minigame Collection by Ganx Studio (itch.io)

You can message me on discord "jamesmr3" or on this post if you're interested.

Working on a procedural dungeon crawler. You'll explore an infinite amount of dungeons, collect loot, and grow stronger. When you are at the hub you can buy, sell, and upgrade your gear. Dungeons will scale in difficulty depending on your level. There will be harder dungeons you can journey through.

Here is the work I've done so far.

I have a lot planned for this project. Here's my public Trello page: 3D Dungeon Crawler | Trello

3D Astist:

I need a 3D modeler who can help me make assets for the game. I'm fairly new to blender so my skillset is very limited. I can make simple level assets as you can see but I doubt my ability to make enemy/player models and animate them. Feel free to give your opinions on things as you see fit.

Programmer:

I'd like this to be a small project that I can finish around a year and to do that I'd like some help. I work a lot and am normally pretty tired when I get home. I'd like to not have that much strain on myself so having another person how knows how to program in gd script would be really nice. You are also free to share your thoughts on the game and make proposals on things.

Update: working on UI and modeling enemies!

Sorry everyone I've been having computer troubles I should have e everything together this weekend hopefully.

I'm in need of a composer!

Not sure yet let me get through these requests. I'll let you know soon!

What's your discord

For everyone that has responded in the last few days I'm not going to be home until Wednesday so expect a reply either Wednesday or Thursday. Thanks for being interested!

Still looking for people in all positions!

Message me on discord

I'm interested! Care to add me on discord so we can discuss?

Go ahead and add me on discord and we'll chat there

Sorry the project is 2D

Character: Red Cube

Game: SlayTheCube

About my character:

  • He's a cube
  • He's red
  • Some say he's a box
  • Umm....
  • He's a...
  • Box
  • He's real good at getting to the goal

Info:

He lives in an abyss I guess. He's always trying to get to the goal to defeat his enemies. He wants to defeat all of his enemies.

Moves:

  • Maybe have a special power-up (his goal) that buffs him
  • Make him an epic boxer. (Punches and stuff)
  • Make him defeat his enemies

Ideas for level music:

A more tolerable version of the worst music you can think of.

Yeah I think this one's a banger. Hope it gets added!

Rev-share only for programmers. I can't afford paying out of pocket for programmers especially the amount of work I have on my plate right now. I barely have enough to commission artist. It wouldn't be fair for my other programmer either. Sorry I'll clarify in my post.

I'm not really sure how to introduce this project of mine... it's sorta horror, sorta comedic, sorta sci-fi. It checks a lot of boxes. The Dill Smith Project (wip) is a 2d top-down rpg that will have some stealth and puzzle elements mixed into it's dungeons. If you are interested in the story you can read an early draft of the prologue and chapter 1 here: https://gamejolt.com/p/prologue-and-chapter-1-s-story-ww3mtdjk

Discord: jamesmr3

About positions:

  • Programmer- I would like another programmer to help out. I'm normally easy going and if you're cool then we're good. The workload will be split up. I have a Trello for the project and you can pick want you want to work on or what's most needed. (ONLY Rev-share)
  • Composer- I'd like someone who is passionate about the project. I'm not too picky with style as long as you think it will match the feel of the story. (Rev-share or commissions)
  • If you have any other skills that might help feel free to message me.
  • Rev-share is preferred

Right now I'm paying out of pocket for any expenses for my team but I don't make enough to pay a whole team of people. Here's the deal I want to make a demo and start a Kickstarter to hopefully fund development. (for marketing, Steam fees, plugins, commissions, etc) I don't know how this step will go so I don't want to promise income with this step. It's mainly to help us get this game out and to be a success. The Steam release income WILL 100% go towards the team and if we are lucky it will help us with future projects. (Maybe a sequel?) I just want to be completely honest so there's no confusion on payment. It's 100% a risk but I feel really passionate about this project and hopefully anyone that joins will have passion too.

Wimmy Walon-

QOL stands for quality of life it basically means it makes the game not as janky and easier to use. There's more to it than that but that's the basic idea. Also I'm glad you liked the update! The grassy background is the same one I'm going to use for the next mini game. I'm working pretty hard on this update. I hope to have it out in a week or two but we'll see.

I'm looking for hobbyist that enjoy making games to help finish projects I have in production. (and maybe work on new projects) My projects are written in JavaScript so that's a requirement if you are a programmer. Artists must know how to do pixel art and make animations with sprite sheets.

Project 1 (Homeworld Takedown):

This is a top-down wave shooter. It's been in production for 5 years. I'm porting the game to my new engine for better readability and to fix some of the complaints for the demo. If you wanna play the demo: https://gamejolt.com/games/Homeworld_Takedown/399461 The game is not finished but I plan on finishing up the rest after the engine port is finished. I would love to have some new eyes on it.

Project 2 (Code name: Dill Smith):

This is a turn-based rpg based in me and my friends universe that we've worked really hard on. If you want a taste of the story I'll link this post: https://gamejolt.com/p/prologue-and-chapter-1-s-story-ww3mtdjk

The game is only in concept right now so you'd have a lot of impact on this one.

If you are interested add me on discord and let me know what position you'd like and send me examples of your work.

jamesmr3#3236

Also since this is just a passion I have and I don't make enough to support a team only join if you are passionate. I will be doing revshare if we release anything.

I'm looking for more talent to join my team! Recently my artist hasn't been doing so well and can't continue to work on the project. I thought this would be a good opportunity to spread the word for people interested in working on the game. I'm really busy not just with work but with my other projects that also need my attention. You'd be helping me out a ton.

If you want details go to https://gamejolt.com/games/dill_smith/672561. The rough story along with some concept art can be found there. If you want to talk to me about anything you can message me on here or discord: jamesmr3#3236

I sent you a friend request

(1 edit)

I'd love to have you on the team! Do you have a discord?

I'm James, I've been developing games since 2018 and I'd like to start a team to help me more efficiently bring my ideas to life. I'm a programmer and I mainly use Unity C# and JavaScript but I know other languages as well. For games I have in production there's only one and it's called Homeworld Takedown, it's a top-down wave shooter. I have one game in preproduction that I'd like to get off the ground, it's called Dill Smith. It's a rpg that focuses a lot on story. You can learn more about it here: https://gamejolt.com/games/dill_smith/672561

Positions I would like:

1 programmer: To help me out.

1-2 artists: That can work with unique character designs and turn them into pixel art. Also must be able to animate.

1-2 level/puzzle designers

When the games release we will split the profit. If you are interested add me on discord: jamesmr3#3236

jamesmr3#3236 sorry it cut out the last number

My discord is jamesmr3#323

It's going to be like rpg maker games. It will also have stealth elements for enemy encounters like persona dungeons.

I'm working on a 2d turn based rpg in Unity. I don't use Unity or C# in general that much so I don't know exactly what I'm doing. I guess it doesn't help that this is my first rpg. It's about the main character trying to catch a possessed serial killer that has a bounty on him for 2 million dollars. I mostly need help making the basic systems. (mostly the battle system) I would like to crowd fund the game but I need a demo first. I'm willing to pay you for your time if you are interested.

Thank you for your feedback! I'll probably just make a new title screen eventually so that shouldn't be a problem when the game is finished. I'll try to tweak the settings icon to make it more noticeable without getting to much in the way. I'm planning on making a tutorial for the game so you'll know how to play.

Thanks so much for playing the build I've been talking about remaking the game for a while I'm just glad I can finally have something to show people. For a bit there I didn't think it would turn out that well but I'm really happy with the way that things are going!

The project you will be working on is called Homeworld Takedown. It is a 2D top-down wave based shooter being made in Godot. It was originally made in html5 but I've remade about 50-75% of the core of the game in Godot. The original wasn't never finished and stopped after the first boss. (this is now the demo)

What you'll be doing:

Clean up- if you see something you can make better then do so.

Helping me finish the core of the game (upgrade system, cutscene system, etc)

Making an endless mode- since I'll be hard at work finishing the campaign you can help out by starting on an endless mode.

If this sounds fun and you would like to help out here's my discord: jamesmr3#3236

I plan on putting the game on steam for around 5 to 10 dollars and I'd happily split profit with you. (if we make anything) Anyway if you have any questions feel free to message me!

I've finished the tools but they still don't have ui but that's a problem for a later me.

Yeah for sure! I've already made pretty good progress so hopefully it will only take me a few months to finish.

I still have room. Do you have Discord? If so add me on there and I'll tell you more about the project.

Yes I am

(1 edit)

I might actually my writer hasn't gotten back to me in a while.

Thank you! Hopefully I'll have something to show in a month or 2.

Hello I'd like to help program if I can. I've been needing more experience in Unity. I'm interested in the gameplay programming role. I sent you a request.
