Wow this was quite the mind bender! Trying to think far enough ahead to reach the end was tricky enough, trying to get all the doughnuts... I think I'll need to stick at this for a while...

Really nice take on the theme, good work! :)

Thanks for the feedback!

And I am planning to continue this after the jam so this is a really good note, I want to have varying floor plans so will be sure to take this into account. I've played it again after reading this and I see what you mean.

Really appreciate the advice, thank you! :)

Thanks so much, glad you had fun with it! :)

What an absolute wee gem of a game! That was so satisfying to play, I played right through to the end and had a massive smile on my face the whole time! Such a novel idea and a great take on the theme. When it clicked at the beginning what was happening it was such a nice moment!

If you're not currently working on a full blown metroidvania game I hope you do at some point as you absolutely nailed it here.

Really well done!

Oh my god this absolutely brilliant! First off, the description of why this fits the theme is hilarious, and I was worried it was going to be this horrid random mess of a game but it turned out to be one of the best I've played so far!

The way everything just keeps getting crazier and having to remember more stuff was fantastic. Being told I needed to blink every 7 seconds had me in stitches! :D

Seriously good stuff!

Excellent, will keeping an eye out for sure! :D

I really, really, really like this, seriously good job!

Like others have said it was very tricky to understand at first but then I saw your earlier comment and it clicked and it became much more enjoyable! Would love to see this expanded upon and take place over a longer time period, a slow burn of gradually risng tension as your crew dwindles and the crises mount would be fantastic.

This is one of my favourite games of the jam and will keeping it around to dip into every now and then. :)

Absolutely nailed the theme as well. Bravo!

This was sooo satisfying to play, flinging yourself around the arenas was great fun!

And I loved the music, reminded me of God Hand on the PS2, which I now want to play again...

Anyway, really good stuff, nice work!

Wow this is seriously cool, I love it! The art, the sound, the whole concept is just brilliant! How you did this in 48 hours I've no idea!

I also feel a little sad for he wee dude constantly being dragged ever onward... Added a nice air of melancholy to the whole situation .

As others have said would love to see this expanded upon after the jam, really good stuff!

Hahaha amazing thank you! :D

Also, did not know about this channel, great resource, thanks!

Nice take on the Snake formula! Being able to run out of controls was a nice touch and made the gameplay more strategic as you had to think ahead.

I also enjoyed the sudden appearance of Santa Poop! :D

Good job!

Really nice concept! The risk/reward nature with the orange bullets makes for some interesting gamplay choices, especially when things start getting frantic. And giving the player the giant shield when frozen for shooting too much was a nice touch.

Good work! Hope you continue to expand on this idea after the jam!

(1 edit)

I wasn't sure about the trial and error nature of the gameplay at first but by the last level I was absolutely hooked! I reallly, really like this concept, seeing your route to the end slowly come together was really satsifying!

I hope you've got plans to expand on this after the jam as I really want more levels! :D

Great game, good work!

Edit: Meant to say I love the art style and music as well, really works well with the theme of the game!

Thanks so much!

I'm really glad to hear that as I was worried that some aspects of the game weren't clear enough. Thanks for playing and glad you had fun!

Hahaha now there's an impact I never expected this game to have! :)

Thank you so much for the feedback and glad you had fun with this!

I think 38 days is the highest I've seen anyone get yet, most people tend to make to around the high 20's at most! :D

Thanks so much for playing and for your feedback, glad you enjoyed the game!

Wow, thanks so much for the awesome feedback and so glad you had fun with it! :D

I will definitely be expanding the game after the jam by adding more rooms and more life scenarios to drive people insane, I've already got a decent backlog of features to add. I honestly didn't even think I would finish a game in time for this jam never mind end up with one that people had this much fun with, it's been such a great experience.

Thanks again!

GMTK: The theme of this year's jam is "Out of Control".

Bob: Hold my crate.

Also, can we please have a 10 hour loop of that music on YouTube?

On a serious note this game is an absolute riot, I love Bob, such an unpredictable wee scamp! :D

This was really good fun, loved the AI taking over and how absolutely manic it gets as time goes on! Presentation was spot on as well. Nice work!

Wow, was not expecting something like this! So glad I gave this a shot, the story was so down to Earth and relatable, and the art was just so beautifuly drawn. And I love this interpretation of the theme, I've played some great games this jam but there is definitely a skew toward games that mess with the actual controls, so it's nice to see a game do something different with the theme.

Really well done!

I really like this concept and had a lot of fun with it! Nice take on the theme of the Jam. :)

Would love to see this fleshed out and expanded on as it would be a really entertaining game, there's great potential for some real panicky and chaotic gameplay!

Great work!

Thanks! :)

Hmmm, the controls shouldn't be slowing down as the sanity drops... I'll need to look into that... However, having said that I really like that idea so will add it to the backlog for things to add in the post jam version! Thanks again!

Thanks! And that's exactly what I was going for so glad it had the intended effect! :)

Thank you so much! Really appreciate your feedback and glad(os) you had fun with it! :D

Aye the controls are number one on the fix list for the post jam version, toying with a few different ideas but I think as someone else said some vacuuming to help get through the tighter spaces is all it really needs.

This was brilliant, I loved it! Great concept, execution and presentation. Would love to see more levels, even though I know full well they will drive me absolutely nuts!

Hahahaha this was really good! I liked that you could either be really peaceful, or go in and murder everyone, or be really peaceful and then go back and murder everyone! :)

Also my hand closing the door as I tried to go through it was a nice touch (no pun intended).

Nice work! Would love to see this expanded.

Honestly now whenever I realise there's something I haven't done around the house all I can hear is that voice... :)

Thanks for playing and glad you enjoyed it!

Who knew a black hole could be so adorable! Well, until it consumes the whole universe of course...

Loved the aesthetic, and the music was spot on, was very zen just floating around trying not to grow too big, but then of course it all goes rapidly to hell when you start uncontrollably consuming everything! :D

Good job!

Wow thank you! This really means a lot! :)

And yes I had a great time with it, got a bunch of ideas for how to tighten up the concept and flesh it out into a more complete game. Definitely think game jams are fantastic experience for anyone getting into game development. I've learned so much!

One thing is for certain, I won't be messing up controls again! :D

Thanks! I've actually updated the page now to say that it can be controlled with a gamepad as the analogue stick makes it a bit smoother. Will definitely be tidying this up after the jam. :)

That was really good, whilst it was short I loved the progression and atmosphere! Genuinely would like to see more of this, I want to know what happened and what happens next... Also nice to see an entry made in Pico-8! :D

Do you have plans to continue with this after the jam?

Aw man this awesome! Really well executed! I think this is my favourite interpretation of the them yet, love how the music gives you that little bit of predictability without sacrificing the "out of control" idea.

Really well done!

That was really cool! Loved how everything kept changing every time the dream changed, good job!

Thanks, and yeah I'm kicking myself with the controls, ach well live and learn! Will definitely be working on it after the jam as got more ideas to drive people insane :D

Hahahaha this was awesome! That's exactly how I imagine controlling a dog would feel like!

I think this would work really well as a fleshed out game in the same vein as Octodad and Untitled Goose Game, really good job!

So sorry to hear about Sonni, hope you're ok, or at least as ok as you can be.

Thanks! And literally just slapped myself in the head. Yes one block at a time would have been ideal, I really don't know why I didn't do that as I actually took some time to ensure everything was on a proper grid to make placement of objects easier...

This jam has been a fantastic learning experience for me and a goldmine of inspiration!

Thanks for the feedback, I did have some more ideas for interaction but wasn't confident I would get them done in time so went with something simpler. I'll definitely be adding more when I develop this further!

The vacuuming on the character is a great idea, will be looking into that before anything else!

Then it has done it's job well :)

Thank you! And yeah I was was really pleased with how the audio turned out :)

Thanks!
