Thank you!! I'm glad you enjoyed it, the nice words are v appreciated :)

thank you so much!

Thank you for playing! :)) im glad you liked the gameplay loop

Thanks man! It was definitely a crazy amount of grinding lol. Also I understand some were having trouble with the movement itself, I didn't have time to fit in a tutorial. But it’s directly related to Quake and Counter-Strike bunnyhopping for those familiar with it.

Thanks so much! Appreciate that you played :)

Thank you for playing! Means a lot :))

I think this is my favorite of all the games! My game was also inspired by bhop so im glad someone here also had that inspiration! Great gameplay mechanic! Although I think, adding a buffered jump would be pretty sweet for this concept. Good job!

The wave dash mechanic is so cool! I loved Celeste, and this game had a very cool movement mechanic idea with the wavedashes, although I wish that the level was closed off so that the checkpoints could stay separate from each other,  in some cases I would fall back to a previous checkpoint and have to start from that checkpoint again. Still enjoyed the movement though, good job!

Visuals and movement are very good, you can tell you put a lot of time into getting the gameplay feel just right, great job!

The art is very well made, and the slap mechanic is super cool, great job!

I really enjoyed this one! The movement feels really good and I like the arrows guiding towards the pickups as well, great job!

Really liked this one! It's awesome, gameplay is very fun!

Very fun mechanics, the art style is cool too! Great game!

Very fun! Leaderboard system is cool and the retro Atari like aesthetic is awesome

Thanks so much for playing!

Thank you! Really glad you enjoyed it :))

I really liked this one! definitely one of the cooler mechanics I've seen in the Jam!

This is my first game jam as well as some others in this thread, I'll be checking out all the games from this thread too! I'd appreciate a rating as well :) Good luck everyone

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the little game. My tip for making your own engine is to just take things one step at a time and soon enough it will all click, good luck :)

Thank you Deacon, I was able to complete your game too, very fun! The movement is pretty hard admittedly, its inspired by bunny hop in games like counter-strike and quake!

Yes, the engine is coded by me in C. I use trenchbroom quake map editor with a custom .fgd file for entities like player spawns and such. I wrote the map parser which creates a custom level format .level, which I then load into my renderer which is built with the raylib graphics library.
