This game is great, I absolutely love it's aesthetic (the prettiest game I've seen so far on the jam) ! :)

It's also very "speedrunable" because of the many moves we have and the level design, overhall it's really well done, I find it rather easy to build up flow (sorry if I am not very clear but that's not a problem at all), but it's really hard to learn the second wall jump type when we just start, and I think it's a bit difficult to learn it in the tutorial since we have to restart every minutes, but even with that it's still a quite cool mechanic and I love that we can use the different moves we have in various ways to gain speed !

Good job and continue the hard (and great) work ! :)

Getting the other wall jumps can be difficult, but I am glad that you found building flow itself easy.

The timer running in the tutorial is a bug, it wasn't running at first but I managed to break that by changing its level number, didn't find out till after I had published it :(

Oh that's unconvenient, but I guess it can hapen sometimes, good luck at least ! :)

Nice work! Great gameplay mechanic!

The music seems to stop eventually so you probably need to loop it or something. Aside from that super cool and intense, I liked it a lot!

Developer

Yep, this is a bug I cant seem to figure out, since it loops fine when I run it locally, but doesn't on the HTML export...

why does it look so goooood

Developer

Thank you! I do like how this one ended up looking. Although, I do think slapping a CRT filter onto a game is an easy way to make it look better ;)

I think this is my favorite of all the games! My game was also inspired by bhop so im glad someone here also had that inspiration! Great gameplay mechanic! Although I think, adding a buffered jump would be pretty sweet for this concept. Good job!

Developer

I assume you mean by buffered jump, if the player inputs a jump early it'll still do it, then my game does have that. Although, the timing window for it is still pretty small, it could help to make it a bit larger.
Nice to see other people making bhopping games, ill make sure to check yours out!

Really nice and juicy! It took me a while to fully understand how the flow worked, and even when I figured it out it was still pretty difficult, but when I was able to execute the jumps it felt really good! I love the ability to slide on any surface and building momentum was super fun. I wasn't able to beat the last level as I took far too long on the second to last, but all the earlier levels were good fun to optimize!

Very solid stuff!

Developer

It can definitely take awhile to get used to, but I think it works well once you know it. I'm glad you got the hang of it.
I do plan on adding some more QOL features to make understanding and mastering the mechanic a bit easier, or a more in depth tutorial to gradually teach the mechanics.
I did try to at least have one good shortcut within each level, so going back to get more time for the later level could yield players finding them.

The reset on the flow can sometimes be a bit too punitive but overall a very fun platformer with an interesting take on the flow theme. I had a lot of fun hunting for good times

Developer

It can definitely be punishing, but the intent is that you basically never stop jumping, I wanted to mimic the feel of bhopping similar to source games. (And another bhop based speedrunning game Hotlava) Although, I did try to tune it to have a lot of leeway, maybe I need to look into adding more of it but less rewards for mistimed jumps.

The flow mechanic takes some time to get used to, but it's a fun and enjoyable platformer overall. I absolutely loved the game's aesthetic and the clean, well-designed menu—very impressive!
