really cute game! i adore the art style, including the animations and transitions, it's so cute! as you yourself have pointed out, there's not much of a challenge in the game, but since you're clearly aware of that, i won't criticise too much. i think it could be a really nice, cute little game if you continue working on it in your free time. :)
thank you so much :) yep, i've definitely realised there wasn't much of a point to the darkness in such a "casual" game without enemies or anything, i guess it was the first solid idea i had for the theme lol. you actually used the torches exactly as intended :) i'll definitely try to make the game a lot more interesting if i continue working on it. glad you enjoyed!
unfortunately i didn't have time to create any assets besides re-skinning a cat asset i found, i'll put a link to all the packs i used in the description, as i should've done already. i agree about the sound, really bummed i didn't get to do that :/
it's my first solo game jam, i've done one in the past, but only as the lead artist, so this was definitely a more intense experience :) i enjoyed soloing though. thank you for the feedback!
the movement feels incredibly good and fast-paced, perfect for a cat platformer :) really nice minimalist art style and sound. the cat laying down when idle is so cute <3
some of the levels are a bit challenging, but that's the fun part! it kinda gives celeste-y vibes in a way. really nice submission, i absolutely understand why it's so popular on the discord lol
such a fun fast-paced game!! getting a 4-hit was the most satisfying experience of my life lol, i absolutely love how chaotic this is. the art is super cute and the audio was nice and fitting. overall super clean and polished, i could definitely see myself playing this when i want to turn my brain off
if you want to keep working on this, i think it'd be cool to have a couple different types of fish with goofy effects when you catch them :D great game!
absolutely outstanding entry!! incredibly polished, the art (both pixel and digital) and sound are amazing, controls feel good, the voice-acting blew me away. the levels are well designed, the ui is great as well. overall an amazing experience, feels like i'm playing a fully fledged commercial game :) this definitely has potential for further development and a big release if devs feel like working on it further.
i ran into one weird issue though, playing the browser version - google chrome would crash after each newly completed level (after the first level on my 1st run, second level on my 2nd run, etc). i might come back to this on the desktop version just to finish the game.
cute game, funny concept :) the movement of the cat following the laser was really smooth. the destroying mechanic felt satisfying, although i did encounter a problem where the cat stands in front of furniture, stopping the laser from reaching it. the dog conveniently stayed out of my way while i mauled furniture lol, i feel like the level could've been made a bit more difficult (maybe a more confined space where the dog can't roam around as much?). otherwise, nice game!
neat game! the concept is super cute and tied to theme well. i agree with another commenter that said the controls were a little buggy at times (for example, around walls, or the cat stops a square short of where it was told to go), other than that it's a pretty satisfying experience. the audio was great (i love that meow lol), art was cute with great breaking animations.
nice little game. i love the idea of making yourself a map and using it in the next run, pretty clever :) the art is pretty cute as well. it took me embarrassingly long to realise that there were also doors on the "closer" invisible walls, i would maybe make those a bit more obvious to the player, for example with a doorframe or something. otherwise, i liked it!
thanks for the feedback! i get what you mean, it would definitely need a lot more work and detailing (and gameplay tbh). since i really liked working on it, i'll probably continue development in my free time :) however, seeing as this is my first completely solo jam entry (even if i started on it way too late and panicked all the way through lol), i'm happy with how it came out tbh :) i'll definitely be taking what you said into consideration if i do continue working on the game!
