No, you did everything right lol. The HTML build was buggy since I didn’t properly test it while coding it.

The Windows build works much better but I don’t expect many people to download the game during the jam

I loved that the enemies moved to the beat. Having to use the keyboard for moving the player like that was a bit rough for me and grabbing allies always got me killed lol

It was a really interesting concept and I had fun playing it

I loved the sound effects

Made it to 134 after a couple tries! Screenshot of score at 134

It’s difficullt to determine the hit boxes of the spinning cards, either those or the players hitbox were a little large as the deaths felt unfair at times.

Overrall this was a lot of fun and I enjoyed playing it, met all the expectations of a great Jam entry

I think I won?

A lot of boats surrounding player

I played this way longer than I should have for a jam game. It was a boat-load of fun, great job!

Played this with my partner and we had quite a bit of fun. There was a turn I skipped buying planes on accident and about 90% of my partners turns they forgot to buy planes.

A gold counter somewhere on screen, even if just plane text on screen would be nice.

I’m not sure if we missed out on a feature, the planes looked to have health bars but we couldn’t figure out how to attack. Because of this, the small plane seemed like the best plane to buy

I enjoyed having multiple types of buildings spread around the map as it allowed for both of us to play very differently, giving it that competitive strategy feel.

Great entry to the jam, keep it up!

Noice score

maybe that you gain them once you step on the tile” - I actually built the game like this and this is how it works on the Windows target, the HTML build built all funky for some reason

Great job on this, I had a lot of fun with this one

My score on the first track 00:08:70 record time

First off thank you for adding volume controls (something I did not do). And thank you for adding a speed multiplier, came in handy for a second playthrough after I got a better hang of the game.

This game was a ton of fun. Figuring out what was costing energy took me a bit but once I got the other resource it made it a little easier.

Very cool to have the map expand after first harvest, helped me not feel too overwhelmed when starting and instead felt excited when it opened up

Eloquent

This was actually quite fun, the blades hit box was very fair and if I missed I knew it was my fault.

The animation when you get hit where you fly off screen was a treat.

Wonderful entry to the jam

I really enjoyed this game. I had to see if it was possible to beat it

The difficulty scaling as you buy more tiles might be too much, I ended up winning by out-clicking the monsters

Overall this is a wonderful entry

I really enjoyed the difficulty of the controls as it felt like part of the challenge.

Interesting entry with probably nothing else quite like it submitted, great job

The WebGL build ran really slow for me but I saw some of the progress videos you posted and this looks like a well executed concept.

Great use of the assets.

Posting your videos to the itch page may help others to get a better idea of what the game plays like if they are having trouble playing the game

Critique: When playing game jam games, it’s hard to spend the time to finish something like this since when you don’t know where to go, it can take a few minutes to find the next item needed.

With 326 entries, trying to play more than 100 games at 5 minutes each is already a lot. I was unable to finish this so I can’t fully judge the length of the game, but I had stopped playing after the zig-zag in the top-right, the obstacles felt unnecessary

Great job on submitting to the jam

I believe I was missing out on what I was supposed to do as the runes went off screen and I believe there is additional information not showing

Gameplay Screenshot

I loved the scene set up and the ambience

Notes:

  1. The music surprised me as it didn’t turn on until after a few minutes of playing and it kept getting louder.
  2. Feels strange to use the mouse to shoot when you can’t use it for aiming.
  3. Something like Q and E for switching inventory and Space for shooting would have felt smoother to play

I really enjoy zombie defense games so this was enjoyable to play even with the notes above.

Great job on submitting this game to the Jam

Sound was a bit jarring with a quiet background, opengameart has access to some decent free music.

Great job on submitting to the Jam, it was fun playing

I enjoyed the mechanic of having to spend xp at the center point, made for a lot of close calls.

A score keeper at the top may help for players gauging difficulty and how far they have made it.

Good submission to the Jam

I played for about 5 minutes before I lost and had 58 points, how long does it take to get to 2500?

Anyone coming to play this one, it took a few minutes to load after clicking “Play Game”

Gotta give it a little bit

I was unable to get the game to play

Good job on completing a submission for Kenny Jam. Music and narration would have supported this adventure well

I actually had a lot of fun playing this one. Similar to something like “Getting Over It With Bennett Foddy” in the sense of the emotions it produces but the “growing” mechanic alllows you to recover a lot easier.

Great submission

No worries, I appreciate you submitting this. Good luck on your next jam and keep learning

Well made entry into the jam, great job on finishing it.

I ran into an issue where once I got hit the level reset including flowers bloomed but I noticed the lives in the top-right, not sure if this is intentional.

It’ll be exciting to come back to this and see what changes you implement in the future.

Thank you for playing.

I used the Windows target for testing so the HTML5 target sadly has quite a bit of bugs that I ddn’t catch in time for submission.

Thank you for the comment, I would love to add more in-game feedback through audio and visuals so it’s easier to understand what is going on.

I just added the How-To-Play gif to the game description for future players, thank you for the suggestion

Thank you for the feedback! I had missed your stream today but went back and watched it.

I appreciate you playing the game and hosting this jam.

Thank you for the comment!

Character art is nice and the music is really cool. I think a neat idea would be if you layered the music and had it fill out as you collected notes, reaching it’s full song once you’ve collected them all.
