Was quite fun once I got into it! Was a bit overwhelming at first :D well done, nice mechanic to make you keep playing!

Submitted

Pretty interesting way to do incremental. Adding energy thing makes you act and think quickly. fits the theme really well. Music is relaxing and suits the game well.

Developer

Thank you for commenting and taking the time to play my game :)

Submitted

felt like i was going crazy! just wanted to click click click. very addictive gameplay just one more boop noise lol!

Developer

Haha, yeah the sound desing help a lot, I did polish it as much as I wanted, thanks for playing ^^

Submitted

My name is Billy and this game is about keeping my alive by feeding me during a weekend-long GameJam lol

Developer(+1)

Be careful, a lot of people started to hate you/kill you :c.

Submitted

As you stated in the discord server, it is getting used to seen the UI can be overwhelming, but it is a very interesting game and has quite some depth. Bravo! And I think having to find out how everything works through play is a fun activity on its own tbh <3

Developer(+1)

I agree that discovering is part of the fun, but in jam, with so many games to play, you don't always have the time to go too deep into understanding the game :p.

I'm happy that there are some people that get enough hooked to take the time to understand ^^.

Submitted

Fun and mildly addictive! Really enjoyed the many mechanics, only issue was I rarely had time to read up and understand each. Being able to pause just to read things would help a lot. Overall excellent.

Developer

There's actually a pause button (P), it's written in the description but it seems I should have added that information in the quests haha.

Thanks for the comment

Submitted

Oh sorry I missed that!

Developer

No worry, you're not the only one!

Submitted

The theme is very well implemented. Great job!!

Developer

Thanks

Submitted

I know I'm echoing what most others have said, but this was a really impressively deep submission! I like how many mechanics you were able to implement in such a short timeframe. This felt like a clicker game that actually had a point to it, rather than just seeing the numbers go up, which is really cool. Excellent work for sure!

Developer(+1)

Yeah I really wanted to not make an idle game even if it looks a bit too much like it :p.

Thanks for the comment/playing :)

Submitted

Just to be clear, I have nothing against idle games and it wasn't at all intended to be a sleight against what you made, I think what you ended up with was fantastic!

Developer(+1)

Oh yeah yeah, to be clear too I like these games!

I just wanted to NOT do that :D.

In the end, we just agree with each other haha, thanks again!

Loved the use of theme in both goal (Billy) and mechanic (plants). Very clever!

I thought it had a ton of replayability, as I found myself convinced that I could do just a *bit* better with one more try.

The display was a little hard for me to read -- I would have preferred larger type and a bit more color in the countdown, etc -- but that's the kind of polish that normally takes more than two days to implement. : )

Also loved the speed multiplier -- I thought it was a great way to let players get their head around gameplay.

Very well done!

Developer

I totally agree, with the game going, it becomes hard to read everything correctly, and yeah, no time to fix haha.

Thanks for playing and I'm happy that you get a bit hooked ^^.

Submitted

Woow, what a nice way to implement the theme, I actually found myself playing a lot! I love the fact that plants growing are a good but they also consume energy, you are always in a situation where you need to decide do I let them grow or do I collect them to reduce energy cost! You can be proud of what you made, the game is pretty nice and complete. One small detail, maybe a small tutorial screen at the start would've been nice to explain the many aspects of the game! Otherwise, nice work 😄

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the compliment.

Yeah I agree, at least one screenshot with just some information would have helped to understand the game, it's always hard to know how difficult it is to read your game haha.

I really wanted it to be about choice and not just an idle game where you click everywhere and don't care, I'm happy with the concept and realization!

Submitted

What a delightful game! Very relaxing and entertaining

I just feel guilty of letting Billy die on my first run, poor him T-T

I like how you used the sprites and the mechanics feels really nice too

Great work \(*^▽^*)/

Developer(+1)

Poor Billy, but for whatever reason, it seems there's an infinite version of small Billy to come back :D.

Submitted

I liked your game. Crazy that you had time to add all the features like time control and stuff.

well done

Developer

I added a lot of content, but not that much of polish, choices were made :p.

Thanks for playing it.

Submitted

First off thank you for adding volume controls (something I did not do). And thank you for adding a speed multiplier, came in handy for a second playthrough after I got a better hang of the game.

This game was a ton of fun. Figuring out what was costing energy took me a bit but once I got the other resource it made it a little easier.

Very cool to have the map expand after first harvest, helped me not feel too overwhelmed when starting and instead felt excited when it opened up

Developer(+1)

Happy to know you gave it a second playthrough!

If I had more time, I'd have made multiple levels to introduce the mechanism, because yeah, the first one is though.

Thanks for the feedback!

Submitted

Good game with good Theme implementation.

Developer

Thanks

Submitted

Addicting game, but I kind of don't understand why I die after some time. I am able to manage up to 4 plots and then I am not able to get further. But a fun idea and great work in the short time.

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Billy is surely wanting too much energy for you :p.

Submitted

Cool concept! I found juggling all my areas to be a bit tricky (which is the idea) but I ended up not really concentrating on the different resources and instead just trying to balance the energy levels, meaning that I missed out on using most of the special powers... I completed it though ;)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for billy then :D.
The game was a bit too hard, I simplified it a bit so you don't need too hard concentration/juggling, still, well done!

Submitted

Very interesting! (and bonus for azerty)

Just one thing, I have bad eyes and when I unzoomed it was very difficult to see little fonts and little symbols. Maybe (but I have no idea on how to code it), you could make something to have a different zoom ratio on fields and fonts, or to group the symbols?

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I realized zoomed out was kinda annoying to play but didn't find any fast solution haha.

I guess different information depending of the zoom would have been possible :/, but I wasn't sure how exactly.

Thanks for playing :)

Submitted

Wow, at the start is so hard to understand what's going on, but after the third die, you can't stop playing it. I go deeper into the game and strategic time :)

But still don't understand how energy works :D

Developer(+1)

Ah damn, I thought the description was clear enough >_< :

Billy uses energy

Crops use energy

Tiles give you more energy

Growing crops cost more energy to stay alive, but rewards more resources.

Thanks for hard trying tho ^^, I added the hint system in the end for people that want to understand the game better, dunno if that really helps haha.

Submitted

it show like you put a lot o work on it.

maybe i a little donkey,  because don´t undertand so well

thank´s for shared <3

Developer

Not your fault :D

I tried to make a kinda management game, really hard to make it clear enough in 48h!

You basically have tiles that generates energy and everything else (billy/plant/monsters) live on this energy, and your goal is to manage everything.

The more you let everything live, the more resource you get, but the higher the energy cost, so you have to find the right equilibrium.

Thanks for trying :)

Submitted

Billy requires energy no more! Nice job, it was pretty easy to understand and I liked how it ramped up. I think in the end I benefited most from simply stopping Billy from eating and spamming harvest all over and over.

Only thing I would have liked to see is being able to pan with middle mouse!

Developer(+1)

Ow Telaba! You did this too!

Yeah I wanted to add the possibility to move with middle mouse.

The other thing I'm kinda disappointed with is that the quest is not big enough/people forget about it and you kinda only see half of the game because of that haha.

Submitted

I tried, but I didn't get very far this time around! Still nice to have submitted something though.
