We're currently not working on the project. We had fun and an update was in the making at the time, but it seems like this project will not receive another update for the foreseeable future. We hope, that you understand that it will most likely remain a prototype.

I personally still start the game from time to time just to enjoy the music created by our talented artist Moritz, who also created the Models.

Some of the mechanics and ideas went into other games that we developed after Rails Ahead. :')

Best regards!

Felix

Thank you for your question! First off, I love FTL. Sea of Survival is not quite like that. You don't have individual room/crew members and no map to traverse. It is also turn-based instead pausable real-time strategy. Additionally, it is much simpler by design. On the other hand: Yes, you can unlock new ships with unique stats, just like in FTL.

I hope that this information helps you. I gladly will answer your questions about Sea of Survival.

Have fun!
Felix

We'll take our time to complete the game. We're glad you liked the robot and hope that you'll like the future updates too. :')

Thank you! This is exactly what we think too and hoped to achieve (after we realized that the scope was too big for three days). We will continue to work on it. :')

Just love the retro art and the responsiveness. It's a bit too hard from the start, but nothing that can't be iterated on. So great entry!

Please bring this game to mobile. It is just fun, looks great and also perfectly fits the theme.

Wow, really one of the most interesting 2D Racers I've played in a while.

The sound was...not mine at all. But the gameplay was interesting. I would love to play a bit more of it, but the win sound is a bit long and not very appealing (at least in my opinion). But overall good entry!

This looks awesome. I also liked the controls. They are a bit unprecise and chaotic with a mouse, but I would love to play this on a smartphone.

This is cute and could totally be a good mobile game right away.

Wow, this is unique. Love the artstyle. It's easy to learn, hard to master. Also love that coins are used instead of just collected. So the more coins you have, the more enemies you can attack.

I'm not very good at this game. But it's a grat game nonetheless. I really wanted to get better at it once I've got the hang of it.

Jumping is a bit janky, but other than that great idea and execution, nice riddles and totally fitting the theme. It would be a really fun game if the input/jumping would be a bit more responsive.

Thanks! We actually also did laughed and were excited once we got the robot ingame the first time. And after that we made it even bigger because it was just so cool and fun.
Yes, our scope was to big from the start. We started out with much simpler ideas, but once we got to this idea, we just thought: "This is nice. We all want to make this, even if it takes longer." ^^
So thank you very much for being understanding and for thinking that it could become something bigger. This really is motivating for us.

"shoot and eat bird on train while admiring the terrain and giant robot simulator" New genre right here. Yes, good description indeed. :'D

I will checked out your game. Really well done! One of the best entries I've played and with fully functional leaderboard as well.

On theme with nice gameplay mechanics. I liked the fact that have to be really cautious to not draw bullets towards you. I would love to have some more lives/a health bar and some power-ups. But great game with nice music - especially since you stated that it was made for the game specifically.

This is fun.

Thank you!
Yes, not everythings is working as intended at the moment. But we are planning to improve on nearly every aspect of the game in upcoming updates.
Improving sound mixing as well as adding and changing out sounds is pretty high on our to do list. ^^

I did. Nice entry! Also left a comment on your submission page. :')

NIce entry, especially for your first jam. Also nice menu and leaderboard. Would love to have the possibility to enter a name, but nonetheless, good work.

Thank you! Our artist had an extensive list of assets to create, but still managed to impress us too. :'D

Thank you! We are so excited about all the positive feedback we've got. We really appreciate it!

We'll keep updating the game and fledge out more game mechanics. :')

Yes, we definitely recognize the scope of our project. Thank you very much! We see the same potential and decided, that we won't cheap out on certain things. This is why we did not complete any gameloop, but instead concentrated on building a solid foundation. Than you for recognizing this and understanding the time limitations. :')

We definitely plan on updating this game!

It's simple, but kind of fun. A timer would make it probably even more fun!

I like that it says "Very good" at all times. That makes you feel very good. Other than that, I've spotted nothing directly related to the jam theme. It's an alright plattformer with different kinds of enemiers, which is nice.

Some hit effects would improve the experience. Other than that you basically just shoot those grannies wave by wave. It's fine, but some more enemy variety would be nice.

First off, love the Menu. Also nice gameplay. Easy to understand. Coins are hard to spot most of the time, but the general idea was well implemented. Maybe a timer could force the player to be as efficient as possible. Otherwise great entry.

Pickup effects satisfying, nice retro graphics, good use of the theme. Overall a really nice and already a quite polished experience. Really well done. Was fun to play. Even the tutorial was fun. :'D

Getting smaller when getting hit was just a great idea - hilarious and easily understanable.

You've created a nice plattformer. Boosted Jumping (with those yellow jumpplates) was fun.

This was one of the most fun games of this jam I've played so far. Satisfying effects, good use of the theme and fitting sound. Well done!

I liked drifting around the level. With a bit of polish this could be a really fun game. Its quite fun already!

Glad you like the idea! I also would love to get the game to a state where it really feels and plays like a fully fledged survival game.
Love your screenshot. :'D

Edit: Also, yes, a tutorial would have been nice. We just did not have enough time for one. :'D

We ran into similar issues. :'D

That is high praise. Thanks very much!
