Hi AleksandraKuc !

Thanks for your feedback!

It was really fun to make - having to think of an original card game and then turning it into a VR game!
I'll sort out that bug with the cards!!

Keep making those games in 2025!
Looking forward to see what you make next.

Hi Cirlcled!

Thanks for your feedback - its really appreciated.

I agree about the agency point you made. Sometimes it does feel you are just throwing cards in for the others to win!
But there is a trick... as there are four players and usually the third to play can win - you have to make the guy to your right bust his cards, giving you the third lay position!! This does change if you can get a 12 or Snowball though!

As for Godot - I would always recommend it - I have used Unreal Engine and Unity too, but Godot is just fun for making games!
UE is way too powerful for short games and Unity is nice, but... Godot is fun and friendly!
I have recently been using Redot - a fork of Godot. Its pretty much the same thing - either is good.
I would give it a go and see if it fits with you.

If you try Godot/Redot, there is a tab at the top for the Asset Library (all free downloads). There you can find the XRTools - just install into your project and you have lots of XR functionality. (there is a small script that needs to be added too - about 5 lines of code).
You can get all the info from the guy who made the XR Tools - he has tutorials:

I have been using Godot for a few years now, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Have a wonderful New Year!

evilentity,

Could be because I'm using an old VR - but maybe worth checking where the pivot point is on the character - make sure it is in the centre!

Have a great New Year!
See more of your games in 2025.

Hey andyman404!

Thanks for the feedback - you are absolutely correct - I was trying to figure out a way to receive a card from the deck and not let them overlap if  the previous one hadn't been moved - your solution would work perfectly. Thank you!

I added a number of 70's Christmas toys as prizes... nice to hear you got the Etch-a-Sketch !! hehehe

Have a wonderful New Year and keep making those games in 2025!

Hey guys!

Just played your entry for the VR Jam 5!

Environments are great! A good sense of being there!
This is the second entry that turns into a horror experience. What has happened to Christmas!!

Very nice entry. Congrats!

Merry Christmas!

Hi andyman404!

I would like to have played your game but unfortunately I don't have a Quest 3.

Looks like a lot of fun from the video you uploaded!
Mixed Reality Tower Defense game looks really interesting.

Congratulations on getting an entry in on time.

Merry Christmas!

Hi evilentity!

I tried your VR Jam Christmas entry!

Enjoyed searching the environment for the presents, couldn't find the last one though!
I'm sure you hid it well!!

A small problem with the character movement; rotation was not centred on the character and maybe no deadzone on the joystick - character kept moving slowly after releasing the stick!

Nice atmosphere in the "dark mode"!
I liked the smoke on the floor together with the redness- very spooky.

Congratulations for getting an entry in.

Merry Christmas.

Hey Circled!

Just played your game you entered for the VR Jam!

Nice little puzzle game!

I had a little trouble with the grab mechanic - the grab items would fly past my grabbing hand!
But all round a nice entry.

Well done for getting it done before the deadline - its an achievement.

Merry Christmas!

Hey SoupOrWorm!

I just tried your entry to the VR Jam!
Nice to see you used Godot.

Like you say in the description, its more of a location than a game.
I like the atmosphere with the fire sound fx and the lighting.
Also a ton of snow particles had a feeling of tension juxtaposed with the warmth inside the cabin.
Interesting blocky environment, Minecraft-esque.

Keep going - be nice to see what you make next.

Merry Christmas!

Thanks! Its crazy addictive even though the main mechanic is only pressing a button !!
VR is quite easy in Godot/Redot as there is an XR ToolKit download on the assets page - this gets you up and running in a few minutes.
Then its pretty much the same as a flat 3D game.

Thanks for watching!

Hey Skogi - I just uploaded a gameplay vid if you want to see some gameplay ! Let me know what you think!

Thanks Skogi ! Congrats on your entry. Its always amazing what people can achieve in a week !

Nice looking game - good work!

Thank you!!

Game looks really nice - well done for getting it in 12 mins before deadline!

Just as a suggestion...
When playing the game your real body should always be facing forward and let the right thumbstick do the rotation. It was designed this way so that you can play while sitting in a chair.

If you rotate your real body then ship forward will move to the side.

I will test it out on the Vive though.
Again, thanks for your feedback

Thanks so much for your feedback - I really appreciate it.

I have only played the game with Oculus Rift and Touch Controllers - I will get a Vive and test it out for the next update.
Thank you!

Nice work. Really captured the atmosphere with the lighting. Great shadows when the character has the light on his head and is attacking.

Beautiful environment and character designs. Nice work!

Thank you for your comment, i really appreciate it.

I like your concept too - recreating old games in VR is a winner I think.

I love your creativity. The way you immerse yourself in the game is heart-warming. Nice work.

Nicely put together. Like the cloud layer effects and the camera getting wet!

Looks like a lot of fun! Nice work.

Nice work - I'll have to give it a try!

Thanks!! I really enjoyed your video too. Nice work.
