Either this game doesn't like being run headless because Pygame, or something is wrong with the build.
I ran pip install -r requirements.txt --break-system-packages (which installed system packages in the user store rather than site packages).
Then pyinstaller on zombowl.spec.
The build appears successful. Now, I run in the Mate terminal ./zombowl.
I get the dreaded no available displays error. Even though hdmi-force-hotplug is set to 1 in the BTSpeak's /bott/config.txt. Does Pygame not work with that means of providing a dumby visual output?
It looks as though the escape key doesn't work in menus, owing to the fact there is no way out of the options or learn sounds menu. With there being no exit option as well, the only option here seems to be to enable talkback and access quick-settings or notifications to get out of the game
Additionally, if you do not wait to disable Talkback until the please make sure your screen reader is disabled message finishes speaking, the game doesn't take it as a cue to initialize.
So the speech for the tutorial works well in the newest build, including direction announcing. The string limit problem might be apparent in the tutorial string that mentions hyperjumps, it cuts off.
dialog: Asteroids only explode if they're small. Larger asteroids fragment into 2 medium asteroids. Each medium asteroid fragments into 2 small asteroids. This asteroid will break into pieces when shot. Look out for flying fragments! Use T to learn how many targets are left. Use a hyperjump, Downto...
Thanks!
There was a quirk in wave 2 of the last round I ran through, and I have a feeling this might be a balance issue. The wave started, and only microseconds later we're immobilized after getting greeted by the bisuness-end of an asteroid. The level started, the red-alert barely had time to react, and the ship crashed. I played quite a few rounds earlier and have had this happen. A few close calls, but I normally have good reaction and can either hyperjump or take care of them right away, whereas this last issue seems like a legitimate imbalance.
Thanks!
Hello!
In Onslaught, NVDA
alpha-20400,675c4c54 is on a bit of a bender during the tutorial page. I was able to read the tutorial using sapi without problem, but on NVDA, we have:
1. Start the tutorial
2. NVDA says: ᘪ
OK: button
3. Attempt 2?
곀
OK: button
Is this a problem with the betas? I can go ahead and try on a stable build if needed.
Otherwise the game's pretty good, though I need to contact Turtle Beach and see if these sounds are bad for the Elite Atlas Aero while in Superhuman Hearing mode, as there is some clippage from time to time. Do you have a general list of assets/sound libraries as to where these sounds came from so I can refer the support staff to these sounds?
Thanks!
Best Regards,
Jack
