Fun cartoony adventure starring scuzzy bandmates. Good audio and voice acting. Some issues hamper overall enjoyment - random performance hitches and hitboxes during one segment are a little frustrating - but they don't detract from the absurd humor and shifting point of view.

A thoroughly unpleasant game stylistically, one with a heavy atmosphere and themes of domestic abuse and drug abuse. But it's handled well and combined with some good voice acting really made me feel uncomfortable in several scenarios which I'm always interested in from the comfort of my desk. Stylistically reminds me of the old Human Entertainment games with its photo-sourced character sprites and low-poly 3D backgrounds. Pretty good if not exactly "fun" but that's what indie gaming is all about.

An affably funny period piece with a strong setting and more than a little influence from Golden Idol and Obra Dinn which is always a good thing. As a former salty sailor I felt more than a little like an incompetent detective gathering clues from chattering ninnies, noting the time, and solving literal puzzles grounded in the reality of 19th century sailing. I wish I could click to speed up dialog, the typewriter effect is perhaps a tad too slow (apologies if it was updated, I installed the game through the app) but this could be expanded to a full commercial release that would turn heads.

Thank you. The voice SFX can be turned down in the options and I should add some indicator you can close the inventory by hovering over the right side of the box but I’m glad you made it to the end.

Thanks for the critiques. I'm not budging on the intro because it's meant to make the player go crazy but I did add a "days counter" so people wouldn't think it's bugging out and double-click to run and once you open the airlock once you can open it without sitting at the computer every time.

Thanks for the response. I will not compromise on the intro because it sets the mood and is meant to make the player go a little crazy themselves but I did add a visual indicator (in the form of a "days" counter) because it was a common belief it was bugging out which in a way "mission accomplished" but it loses nothing with the counter.

thanks. Looking forward to the $107 jam this year!

A fantastic game reminiscent of the good ol' days of AGS. Funny writing, charmingly hammy delivery for the voice actors, and detailed screens with fun little interactions. The amount of polish here in 2-weeks is wild, this is a game that stands on its own.

No obligation please, there are so many other games to play! The Enigma of Mr. X is on my docket tomorrow.

A mighty impressive first person adventure with stylistic chunky 2D art, audio design, and voice acting. I overlooked a few hotspots due to the overall lack of contrast but that can easily be tweaked on the back end. Really reminded me of Norco in how slick and stylish it is, I would play this as a full game!

A cute "lunch break" game where randomized encounters present choices that drain resources. With more flavor text and a variety of scenarios I can easily see this being spun off into a much deeper experience but what is here is very satisfying for a game jam game. Beat it in about 10 minutes, had a few close calls and stole a lot of candy.

Thanks for the kind words. There is a walkthrough text file in the folder itself.

thank you! I consider given a quick access to goober functions and going outside once the jam voting is over.

thank you!

Fun bite-sized (*wink*) adventure. Good voice acting, cute art, funny and brief.

thank you I’ll definitely check your game out

Intense story told through the smiling avatars of ZZT which definitely lightens the oppressive mood. The biggest damnation of domestic abuse is how many people witness it (the teacher, the doctor, the girlfriend) and offer no support.

An interesting spin on the top-down Zelda-like where every attack involves a little QTE. I'm more interested in the story behind the creation of the project where apparently a new dev worked on it every day with no direct collaboration and the fact that something playable and completable was created is not without merit. Some general polish issues persist - it's hard to tell what your hitbox is and sometimes enemies will just spawn directly in front of you (perhaps a result of Godot loading a new scene inappropriately) but a neat jam entry nonetheless.

Thank you!

Thanks for the tip. I'll be sure to fix that.

thank you, you can double click to “run” inside the ship

realistically? 2024.

I like the detail that Melodii is gender neutral, nothing in the game I’ve seen genders them but most people probably default to girl.

HPS1 demo was a teaser and unrelated. Prologue is the opening chapter of the final game.

Thanks for your honest response at the end I'm glad you enjoyed yourself.

no check Steam

there’s a key behind the couch

when it’s finished.

I live in Virginia and pass through the area when I go to Ohio for Origins so a lot of minor details are from s love of traveling.

it’s a literal game boy rom. It requires either an emulator or you can run it in browser.

Thanks

thanks.

I’ll also say it started as a jab against PT but hate games are always boring so it evolved into something original.

I haven’t heard anyone mention issues with the clock. I’ll have to look into it

The key is randomized, you keep the killer away by looking at them, the car doesn't always start the first time. The instructions all say as much.

Liquid Swords, GZA and RZA, greatest rap album of a generation.

respect the dedication :D

I assure you this is 100% accurate to my childhood basement. The game’s theme is a recreation of my 90s nostalgia which is mixed in with my parents’ 70s nostalgia. A Betamax player in 1995 is not the best of things but I was a spoiled kid I will admit.

I do apologize for everyone salty over Bob Dole’s loss in 1996. Truly our nation’s greatest tragedy.
